TampaTitan
Might be the best episode thus far. Good job fellas. One thing about the replay angles that are available. I started a thread in the offseason where the league announced that fans inside the stadium will get to view te same replay angles as the officials starting this season, however it isn't always the same angles we see from our couch at home. Why it's like that is beyond me, pretty inexcusable.
Mercalius
A few comments: -Resigning Marks should be a no-brainer. He's solid depth, if not, one of our better starters on the D-line. He hasn't flashed elite potential yet, so he shouldn't be expensive to re-sign. Letting him go would crazy. -I think you guys were undervaluing McCarthy towards the end. The coaching staff pretty much admitted to having to gameplan around his loss, against the Colts who despite their record shouldn't scare most teams. He whiffs some plays, and I haven't looked at the stats recently, but he was a touchdown's difference in games leading up to halfway through the season. -The Chris Johnson fits at the end of last season? Links please - I don't recall them, but I agree with most sentiment - he shouldn't be our focal point of offense, but if there's no better talent available, why not keep him? (Just don't feed him the ball 20+ times a game) The comments about Cook being injured with praise being layered on Stevens - didn't he get several penalties this last game? I like the guy, but his abilities in the running game get nullified pretty quick if he false starts more than twice a game. I like the power-running sets and think he's underrated as a receiver, but he didn't help with our offensive drives yesterday with all of the flags. -I agree that Munch is likely coaching for his job on MNF - but then again, so is Rex Ryan. It should be an interesting game because of both of those factors. There's a more than good chance that the loser of that game packs their bags at the end of the season. -I'm glad I wasn't the only one that noticed Preston yesterday. Thought I might have been hallucinating. -Zach Brown is good, but he's not better than Ayers yet. Give him a season, and he may be, but I think some opinions are premature in that regard. OILERMAN
Ayers vs. Brown I almost don't think it's even fair to compare the two guys because they have such different roles. Ayers seals the edge in the base and now seems to play on the line more in the nickel. Brown plays in space, plays man and blitzes. I think Brown is harder to replace than Ayers. I've been meaning to check the stats but since Brown started playing a large role I can't recall opposing TEs doing nearly the damage they did early in the season. They clearly think highly of Brown because he was playing the most snaps even when all 3 guys were healthy. McCarthy is good when healthy, I just think they can get by without him if he gets injured as long as they have depth for the nickel. No reason to draft a LB high. Ayers needs to rush the passer more.
OILERMAN
Tennessean on Preston: Preston lauded: The Titans had wide receiver Michael Preston on the game-day roster against the Colts ahead of veteran wideout Lavelle Hawkins. Preston was signed from the practice squad on Saturday. Hawkins signed a three-year, $7.25 million contract during the offseason but has been on the game-day roster only four times. “He’s been working hard,” coach Mike Munchak said of Preston. “We feel he’s been improving quite a bit in practice. He always plays the scout team. The guy has great energy. He goes to get the balls. Quarterbacks have confidence in him from working with him.” Munchak added that Preston’s size (6-5, 206) makes him a good fit at the “X” position, which is where Kenny Britt normally plays. Preston played 12 snaps and recorded his first NFL reception. “Mike did a nice job,” Munchak said. “He caught a ball, blocked hard and had good energy.”

FWIW, I think I'm probably the highest on McCarthy out of the four recording last night. I do agree his health is an issue...but when he's on the field, he's such a difference maker. There was an article from Wyatt a few weeks back about how the Titans defense gave up almost a full TD more when McCarthy was out of the lineup. Curious to see how that's held up these past 2 games with him out.

tinman
I praised preston in camp. He looked pretty good in camp at times. His size and speed are what should have helped him find the field quicker.. Not sure what hawkins did to earn the contract..

Jamalisms
Ok, how about this... it didn't make the cut in the extended version, so maybe when we put out the director's cut... but I wondered aloud whether or not a FA would hesitate to sign with the Titans because Nashville isn't the best / flashiest / most appealing locale. Josh and Scotty decided I was crazy. Thoughts? Is Nashville the city a bonus to FA's, a detriment, or decent enough but nothing special so it's a non-factor? I know the TV show sucks.
