Never played either game but heard about this too so can't think of it as surprising. Starkiller, and MadMax

Speaking of, I wish I could edit the title of this and add a "Spoiler alert!" disclaimer. Starkiller, and chef

Got it -- then I won't comment on anything past this point in the story. As far as differences leading up to this scene in the game vs the show, I'd say the game was way more brutal. Gamers didn't know anything about Abby or the crew before this scene. There was a heavy feeling of strain between Joel and Ellie due to his actions (and lie), but no real foreshadowing that Joel was being hunted or was in physical danger. They went so far as to edit scenes in the trailer and even add extra scenes to show Joel being with Ellie on her revenge, insinuating that Dina is the one that probably gets killed. Everyone else (especially Abby) were violent and unforgiving in the game, where as the show softened them a bit. For instance, in the game Nora beats Tommy viciously in the head, whereas they kindly put Dina to sleep so she won't see. The one girl is also crying and everyone else being a little uncomfortable with Abby's violence in the show, but in the game they seem to enjoy it, and several members want to kill Ellie and Tommy afterwards. Then there's the famous game scene of Abby bashing Joel in the head and spraying his brains everywhere, whereas they added that detail to Abby's dad (the doctor) in the show and instead did the stabbing so Ellie could hug his body. Also, you can see it in the clip you posted, but Joel is way more of a hardass in the game. You can see that violent side itching to come out, but in the show they show him as gentler and perhaps more changed. MadMax
Season 2 finale.... What the actual? If you can explain without spoiling next season, please do. If not, shaddup. Otherwise, what the actual?!?!?!
titanruss
The game is split into parts where they follow ellie for 3 days in seattle and then follow abby for 3 days... that's all i'll tell you. Personally, I think the show is really fucking it up this season. You weren't even supposed to know who Abbey was or why she killed joel until you start playing as her character in the game. There was a huge reveal that would be the great cliffhanger to end this season. MadMax, and Starkiller
