Let's face it. Things are not going well in Nashville. The Titans are rebuilding, and the Predators are a depressing disaster. Hope might be coming after the draft. The Predators might find a way out

They're always a tough and gritty team that is more of an inside game than outside. JJ is definitely the franchise you build around its crazy how efficient he is, he just needs to rebound better. But

Following the NBA takes some adjustment from a fan standpoint. Can't always go by the stat sheet and it requires way more patience. It takes years and years for big guys to develop it's almost like a

Shannon Sharpe and Oucho have some thoughts on Ja.

Stating the obvious. I don't disagree per say. I also am struggling with him doing it twice in as many days--hard to track the why behind that other than it being intentional or second nature.

It's also kind of dumb to me how much heat he gets--he is a part of culture, culture that reflects the city he plays in. He didn't hurt anyone, he wasn't drunk, he didn't say any crazy or offensive shit--the "shooter" gesture is common in all sports. I think the way Shannon frames it makes the most sense--it is costing you money and costing you opportunity. But I think a lot of this is overblown. The NBA glorifies Kobe after all and employees known abusers. Who they focus on and go after at times feels arbitrary, as does the severity of the punishment--who's line is anyway style leadership where the rules don't matter.

That said, if someone like Kyrie can settle down and lead a team, so can Ja. The logical part of my brain doesn't see the roster there at this point in time (and I'll admit, I dwell on missed opportunities and asset management--ditching Adams, trading for Smart, failing to get Bridges/OG etc.).

But unlike teams like the Mavericks and Suns who made runs and blew up the team for...reasons? We are sticking with our guys and building an authentic team of home grown players. I'm hopeful we can get the right coach and made a Cavs like resurgence.

It's called racism... jk

It's much ado about nothing. Who really cares about the hand gestures?  Too bad Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton messed it up for everyone.

Probably is an element of racism to it so let's not go there?

It's really impossible to truly discuss this broad subject without it ending up in politics.

It's bad optics. Everyone knows why.

Sure, you can do whatever you want but you're still going to get fined for it.

As long as the league is consistent, fine away. They will eventually stop

Yeah, so let's not really get into Ja Morant's politics here or the leagues reaction unless someone wants to make a thread in the politics section that I can ignore--fine by me.

The grizz are a mess , no defense at all

It's been rough, not gonna lie. It's also tough to watch Adams and DB be successful parts of the Rockets. That Marcus Smart move was terrible, some of the roster decisions---we draft as well as everyone...hard to not dwell on the what ifs and the swings and misses in the trade market.

Truth be told, I am pretty much out right now and am finding it hard to pay attention until the playoffs. The Wells injury really hit hard. He is awesome, a great kid, a great story, and got took out on a nasty play. The other player was clearly shook and felt remorse, but it definitely sucked the momentum out of it for me, as well as the recent decline. Something will need to change for this team to take the next step. I am not sure what it is.

Man this thread hit the ground hard

Lol. It's because no one else cares. I thought there might be chance to recruit Titans fans--if anything they should be familiar with a collapse of this nature.

I was lightly following the Grizzlies this year.  And then it was over before I even got a chance to tune-in for the playoffs.  I think I’m with you and that Memphis is a fun team to follow.

It’s certainly more entertaining than Vanderbilt and Tennessee basketball.  As competitive as those teams are, just can’t follow college sports so much enthusiasm anymore.  I’m too old to watch teenagers.  Not like professional athletes are old either.  But just, it’s not as much like watching babies.

Very interesting trade. Memphis got so much for Bane. This was a seismic amount of capital coming back for a third option.

Bane goes for Cole Anthony (on year back-up PG), KCP--decent wing defender. Bad year last year so seen as bad contract, but if he bounces back in what should be a much better environment for him.

Four first round picks and a huge pick swap in 2029. Unprotected picks in 2026, 2028, and 2030. A pick in 2025 they didn't have (16). Kleinman drafts well. The 2026 pick includes swap rights for Phoenix and Washington.

This could be a another move in the works. I wouldn't want KD. If a super star goes...

Ja, Giannis, JJJ--would be nasty work Otherwise, we build like OKC and draft, draft, draft.

Not mad about it.

Also Giannis said hes staying in Milwaukee and KD has already turned the grizz down multiple times years past, especially this years trade deadline.

Latest I am seeing is actually Devin Booker being floated around. I think it would be kind of smart to retool with draft picks personally, but I have to admit Booker is intriguing. I just think KD doesn't fit the timeline.
