Levis being on the extreme bad of the TWP plays and accuracy from a clean pocket are pretty damning and match up with the pre-draft stuff and what we saw in 2023.

That doesn't mean that the scheme, OL play, and skill guys weren't also issues that impacted Levis and Tannehill.

Yeah , I think he’s trying to absolve Levis for some of the bad throws when the charts show otherwise.

No one is saying that those other issues weren’t factors but he made some questionable throws independent of the mess of an offense around him.  The Pit second half comes to mind especially the last drive.

It's not about being a victim. It's about the level of incredulity that is displayed when people express that Levis might not be the long-term answer for us. I have definitely seen people be accused of rooting against Levis for sharing such concerns. What I'm really wondering is what it is that people saw that changed their minds on him so radically because I watched his college tape and his 2023 play and didn't think he was much better than he was in college save for of course the ATL game. All of the same pros and cons showed up. I understand that he's had OL issues dating back to college and maybe he looks way different once those get cleaned up but that remains to be seen.

I literally have zero idea what you're talking about. Scine noting Suze actively roots against the franchise has nothing to do with this.

Everyone on the board, including me, has openly dogged on Levis. He gets next year and will have to show gains in decision making and accuracy as well as staying healthy to get 2025. Really cut and dry and this isn't a good hill to die on.

No, I'm not absolving him. It really is hilarious to watch this unfold. I liked OS post because yes hopefully the new QB coach helps with those types of plays. I then noted when I first saw the graph I saw Tannehill way off to the right and though that was Levis because I'm on my phone. This isn't complicated. Tannehill made a bunch of bad passes because of the line. We all know he's better than what he showed the last two years. Since we know that let's see how it goes regarding Levis and him being an outlier.

Once again, if Tannehill was on the left side of that spectrum and Levis on the right it would be a lot more of a concern. It's still a concern, but a good QB being that far right on the same graph puts the situation into context: the offense was fucked.

IMO, it comes down to if you're all in on Levis, you're way too optimistic and if you think he's doomed to suck you're way too pessimistic. The way I see it is that we're still very much in uncertain territory as it relates to our future at QB. As an org though, we are talking and behaving as though we just watched a Justin Herbert type season. We've all but named him a franchise QB. Hopefully we're right and he lives up to that. It does inspire some confidence in me that the decision-makers are so high on him. At the same time I worry that we might overlook things with Levis the way NFL franchises tend to do with highly drafted "franchise QBs". Ultimately what worries me most is that the areas Levis struggles in can be fatal. Struggling from a clean pocket is typically seen as a huge red flag and ball placement issues can be stubborn to fix. Not hating, just saying.

You do realize one of the basics of the graph that is explained?  Levis is so far to the right that it’s kind of alarming, while Tannehill got unlucky on some of the ints.

@BudsOilers how often have you been accused of rooting against Levis?

Ummmm yes dude. The only players with more turnover worthy throws by percentage were Browning, Ridder, Howell...and Levis.

Him being a bitch about Tannehill getting benched isn't the same thing as Scine saying he believes Bud roots against the franchise, which he does. The guy wanted the Nashville stadium deal to collapse. I don't think Scine is exactly right, but he has evidence for his conclusion.

No, you're totally wrong about that.  Rooting against the franchise "fans" were like Zander and that Maker guy.  Laughing at the Nashville stadium stuff, some of us (almost entirely Oiler fans) also did.
