the problem having an alpha dominant voice like Vrabel is that his greatest concern is how to win the next game not being concerned with what is best for the franchise in the longer term.

This is why it was so great to have a football guy as the Team President, like Jeff Diamond back in the day. Fisher wanted to keep Daryll Lewis as the starter, Reese wanted Rolle to start. Diamond cut Lewis and Rolle started.

Entering a draft with a no matter what mentality is what gets you Isaiah Wilson and Caleb Farley.

The way this draft is setting up there are two elite LT that will more than likely go top 5 then the next 3 best OT played RT in College Football, so in your scenario you are taking OT6 who is a developmental LT over a potentially top level WR prospect, that would be horrible roster building regardless of the positional value of a LT.

Your sobering doses of reality are both much appreciated and depressing.

Noooo!  That guy stinks at pass protection.  Gotta sign a starting level C this way Vrabel can’t stick him in the starting lineup.  If the OT weren’t so awful the past two years he’d be getting more flack.

And you know Vrabel will start him if he can.

Is it "normal in the NFL" for the HC to name the starters against any wishes of the position coach?

Want to see Radunz-Skoronski-Brewer-Brunskil-Hubbard offensive line. NPF and Dillard as swing tackles. We have a mini bye to practice it in, Radunz is one of the top 5 O-linemen at this point IMHO.

This is what they should go with IMO
