There is something seriously wrong with our system when we have senators dying of old age. They shouldn’t be able to serve after retirement age.

A standardized competency test at 75 and taken every year thereafter should be mandatory. That isn't ageism; it's common sense.

This is dumb. plenty of people contribute to society after 65, especially in non physical jobs.

Forcing someone to take a mental acuity test based on age is the definition of ageism...

The test should be issued to every candidate running and then every elected official every year while in office.

No age requirement.

No it isn't. It would be ageism to set a defined limit where they can no longer serve. Is it ageism to make kids take a test for their license?

passing a driver's license exam is not the same as having someone take a mental acuity test that likely isn't black and white and would be open to interpretation. Want to get the geriatrics out of office, vote them out plain and simple. Or let the system box them out like it did with Feinstein in recent years. Forcing an age limit or mental test will never pass scrutiny in this day and age.

They should at least have to take mental competence tests once they hit 65. Mental decline usually begins around 70.

should we force known pot heads to take mental competency tests earlier then? See where this goes? Nevermind the fact these people are democratically elected by the people in their districts/states.
