10 million for a good to very good (when fully healthy) CB is a good price IMO. They're in trouble if they're banking on getting a high level starter at both pass rusher and CB going in to the draft too

I think they are banking on a lot of pretty good guys being on the street and being able to get them relatively cheap.

We. Are. Fucked.

We needed a #1 corner. Now we need a #1 and #2 corner. Adoree regressed and has never been healthy. The rest are either unproven or scrubs worse than what we had under Webster.

Um no.  There aren't that many lockdown #1 corners around.  You can win with averageish and solid CBs.  You can't win with an awful non existent pass rush though.

Beef up the pass rush.  Get a cheap vet and draft someone with a first or second rounder.

do they re-sign King, or do they go younger and cheaper?.. and when Vrabel came in he said that on defense we would be multiple up front and constant in the back end or secondary.. what does that mean in the context of who our players are?

Lol at cheap vet pass rusher or pass rusher late first. They don't grow on trees. Corners don't either. That's why they cost.

Most of this draft is full of developmental pass rushers. Not a bunch of studs. Signing one will cost money.

It takes 2.5-3 secs to get a sack. That's how long it takes a receiver to get 15-20 yards and release. QB can throw in 2 secs to get that ball out on a 20 yard pass. Is this math making sense?

You people banging tables for pass rush are stuck in the 90s. You're also ignoring the modern QB who buys an additional 2 secs by moving the pocket.

You misread.  I meant that they should sign a cheap vet CB and draft one later in the first.

TB just won with young average CB.  KC won with Breeland and Ward as CB. Philly won with some average CB's.  Ok, NE won with Gilmore who is a #1 CB but I bet you more often than not the Super Bowl winner doesn't have exceptional top notch expensive corners on the roster.

We. Don't. Have. Any. Average. CBs.

None. Adoree is an ok cb when he starts. But he don't start. No #2. No depth. We're fucked. Did you see what Big Ben did to us? Dink and dunk us 90 yards every series. Swiss cheese WITH Butler.

Yes, but there's free agency and the draft.  And we have Fulton who should be healthy.  You're acting like they will just stand at the position and not do anything.

I don't want them signing some bum who is over the hill.  No old guys at CB.  I can deal with someone who was injured.  Those bounce back guys are the best value.

I think that it's true that these moves are pretty much expected and necessary but that they likely mean that the team is worse next year which is why you see the different responses in these threads.

Some are saying we knew this was going to happen and that it makes sense and others are just upset that it makes the team worse.

Technically both sides are correct imo.
