Lawson would be a much preferable option to guys like Watt and Clowney.

Yeah, he would be preferred. But what makes anyone think they aren’t going to franchise tag Lawson?

You think the Titans aren’t a Superbowl contending team?

Need to see the totality of the offseason moves first but i'm not liking what has happened coaching staff wise, think we are further away from a Super Bowl now than we were 12 months ago.

Is it even possible to bring those two in if Watt is cut?  You know Vrabel is just itching to do a 2017 Texans DLine reunion.

It’s possible with the right contract structure with Watt, but then you have to cut Saffold and let both Davis and Smith walk.

Well it’s not like he’s gonna go rogue and start picking guys Vrabel doesn’t want.

That's not Robinson's MO. If Robinson and Vrabel start to diverge on the direction the team should go then Robinson will give Vrabel the ax. Hey may need to smooth the decision with Amy, but Robinson has, for the most part, picked more than good enough ingredients to go into Vrabel's stew. It's not his fault if Vrabel under/over cooks everything.

It might be easier and more cost effective to sign a vet NT, and sign some vet depth guy at IDL and draft someone in round 1 to start opposite Simmons.  I have no clue who would qualify as a mid tier edge who isn't injury prone or old, maybe Hasson Reddick?  He may get tagged though.

This is one way to do it. I’ve said it before, but this is a complicated offseason with multiple pathways, and I havent decided yet which is the right one nor which is the most likely.

I do not envy JRob this offseason hah.

They actually push us further away from contending.

Not to mention that signing expensive vet players would probably kill any comp picks for Davis and Smith.  The draft is loaded with defensive front 7 players.  Draft them.

Where/what do you spend the money on if you don't re-sign Davis or Smith?  If you're going that route you almost have to look at cap casualty types.

Those moves don't make us a superbowl contender

Maybe not, but what does? Signing Corey Davis or Jonnu Smith? I dont think so, personally - although it would certainly be ideal to keep at least one of the two.

I think there’s a missing ingredient on this team - veteran leadership. That’s what could make the difference.
