I know people may not want to hear this but doesn't this kinda point to Patricia?  He's experienced and was sucessful as a DC, buddies with  Vrabel and knows the "system".  Checks all the boxes.

His name would likely come up. At this point, anyone besides Vrabel is an upgrade.

Vrabel really putting the defensive issues back on the players on the Mike Vrabel show right now, interesting he said they gave the players today off so they could get away and think about what they could of done better yesterday.

This really bothers me. Behind the scenes is okay but saying this shit in public isn't going to help in the locker room.

Albert Breer thinks Patricia is going back to the Patriots, personally I don't want his abrasive nature at the Titans never seen as many players publicly give a former coach a kicking as he was fired as HC in Detroit.

The problem is that if you're strictly going by the guys who know the Pats system and is experienced, there aren't that many guys out there who are a fit.  I agree that he was an awful HC in Detroit.  But maybe he tones it down as a DC.

I'd like Pees returning as the 1st choice but not sure how realistic that is.

Bring Pees back.

He’s bored out his mind and never misses a Titans game.

I bet He’ll do one more year if they let him put his two cents into offseason acquisitions.

He doubled down later in the show and again put a lot of the current issues at the feet of the players, have never heard him be as critical of the players as he was in today's presser and once again on the Mike Vrabel show.

Need to find a longer term solution than looking at bringing back to Pees every time the defense is struggling, mentioned it in another thread yesterday if there is going to be significant changes to the defensive playing personnel this offseason it is the perfect time for a scheme reboot as well.

Its a terrible display of lack of leadership. Even if you believe that you don't throw your players under the bus like this. It just reinforces my opinion Vrabel's arrogance will be his undoing.

Yeah, well...see some of the players are playing terrible.

It would go a lot further if he also admitted he should have hired a DC.

The reality is most of the blame falls on the offseason bumbling of free agency and the draft.

Leaving our cupboard almost bare on defensive talent.

And he knows it.

Sometimes players deserve to be called out.

On specific cases on a player by player basis yes. You don't call out your entire defense and basically say "its not coaching or scheme, its the players".

Not a good look when his defense shows up unprepared, unmotivated, and without a plan of attack.

Sure, guys were out of place and missing tackles, but you could clearly see there was no plan to slow them down, and no adjustments until the half.

It's an amazing lack of self-awareness and his level of arrogance is reminiscent of what was the final nail in Mularkey's coffin as head coach here.

Have the players been great? Not necessarily, but the fact that nearly every single defensive player has regressed this season and the defense is either dead last or in the bottom five of a lot of defensive categories points to a schematic/coaching failure on the part of Vrabel in addition to poor play.
