AussieTitanFan08 Posted December 6, 2020 Report Share Posted December 6, 2020 No one watching the Titans defense this year can think having a Vrabel/Bowen led defense is a good idea next season, yes there are some major defensive personnel issues but its incredible how apart from Simmons and Butler basically the entire defense has regressed this year. I really fear for the short term of this franchise if Vrabel refuses to hand over control of this defense to a qualified DC who should be allowed to bring in his own staff, i'm not sure there is a single coach on this defensive staff that deserves to be retained next year. Its absolutely sickening this defense is so bad we are wasting an offense that is good enough to compete with any team in the NFL. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

When you hire a def minded HC you expect to have a good defense and staff. I think the coaching stuff sucks personally. Vrabel is great with managing the game but falls short in many other areas. I knew this is how it would play out do to the idiotic decision to forgo one. I think Pees coming back is a definite possibility if Vrabel doesn't pull a Whisenhunt. Vrabel is a good leader and motivator of men but he isn't a good DC he needs to go back to a CEO type HC role and bring in someone to run the defense. The defensive and ST staffs are awful. The offensive staff is ok. I think Smith is averageish. Carter is a good OL coach. I have nothing bad to say about the WR or RB coaches. I've held this opinion all year and have killed Vrabel over not replacing Pees for months. This is not a new development nor is it based on the outcome of today's game.
