What’s the reason?

No idea - maybe because he's more of a power-man guard instead of a zone guy and they're running more zone these days? But maybe because he's getting older and not as good or injury reasons.

Point being - they replaced him for a reason, and must be a good reason unless we think Loomis is a retard (he's not)

28= not old...played at a high level...all about $ and since we’re probably not signing Clooney go ahead and spend some money. Definitely an upgrade over Davis!

Very likely not much of an upgrade on Davis. They drafted him to be the starter.

Don't need to be wasting money on another guard right now when we're already paying one 14M per year and we have lucrative extensions right around the corner to get done. Also obviously trying to sign Clowney.

There's no point into signing Warford.  Davis knows the scheme and looks to be improving.  They also determined that they were spending too much money on the OL (Conklin's departure).  They aren't going to suddenly turn around and offer decent money for Warford.

Need.  We have a lot invested in the line.  Davis did well in the playoffs.  We just put another 1st rd pick on the line.  Where we need help the most now is slowing down offenses.  Money has to be spent correctly or it's wasted.

Amazing how so many here don't seem to understand that when you're paying your QB 25-30 million dollars a year, you have to set limits on other position groups to remain competitive and we're paying Lewan, Safford and Jones health veteran contracts already.
