HBO's Chernobyl

The scene where they were flying over the plant in the helicopter for the first time and the political guy was trying to override the physicist's order to not fly over the reactor site was really intense and well done.

Pretty good show.  Of course, I knew the story of Chernobyl but I was pretty young when it all went down.  I knew it was bad but didn't really know the whole story until watching this and then doing some light reading on it.

I just finished episode three.  It's really crazy how people in power fuck over the populous. Don't think this shit would have been way different in America.  They are still chasing Snowden.  Nuclear power is powerful and can/produce a lot of energy.  But look how it's used to keep other countries in line.  I read long ago, we had enough germs to kill everybody on earth a hundred times.  God had to make it rain for 40 days and 40 nights, nonstop and he still didn't get everybody.

This is just surface shit.  Once we send the nukes, we sending the bugs.  Military roaches.

The entire experimental legacy is dismaying, from the hundreds of dead monkeys at Fort Detrick to the spectacle of Seventh Day Adventist soldiers, the vaccinated volunteers in Project Whitecoat, strapped to chairs amid cages of animals in the Utah sunlight as Q fever aerosols are blown over them. Most chilling are the mock scenarios played out in urban areas: light bulbs filled with simulated BW agents being dropped in New York subways, men in Washington National Airport spraying pseudo-BW from briefcases, and similar tests in California and Texas and over the Florida Keys.[23]
