Kirkster
In order of expense: Star Lotulelei NT Your new starting NT. Let Jones walk and move Austin to DE. Star will be getting paid next week. Phenomenal DT Prince Amukamara CB Also had injury problems but he is a solid consistent #2 CB. He played wel in Chicago and Jacksonville in recent years. I thought we should have went for him last year. Puts Ryan exclusively in the slot. Donte Moncrief WR We always seem to sign a FA from a divisional rival. Cut Decker and sign Moncrief. Would be solid in the quick slants with Marcus. Some mileage left on him and has flashed all star ability. There is three names for you. Who you think? tgo
Austin is already a DE and if they signed Lotulelei they’d cut Williams. Amukamara doesn’t fit. Moncrief is a “potential” guy and would probably be our 4th best receiver. There’s mutual interest between Baltimore and Moncrief as it stands. Lotulelei would be a good fit I think. But Robinson seems to like Williams, so it’s hard to say whether a move will be made there. We’d have to win a bidding war with Houston and Kansas City for him. tgo
My 3 would be: Jack Mewhort - Vrabel connection, zone exp. Cheap, pro bowl upside. Smart, nasty, vocal leader. Right guard to replace Kline. Jerrick Mckinnon - Skilled, explosive 3rd down back that catches a lot of passes. Derrick Johnson - Vrabel teammate, best ILB in coverage per PFF over the last 2 years, good system fit. Stop gap for rookie to learn behind.

Face
I've been thinking about Star since mid season. He's one of these guys who I really think could benefit from a scheme change. I think he's a pretty pure 2 gap NT who was playing in more of a 1 gap, penetration type system. He has been pretty bad the last few years though, which is worrisome. It's one thing to underperform, another to suck. But he's a true powerhouse, he did 39 reps of the bench. Most dominant NT's put up a ton of reps. He also has the perfect frame for a NT. I'll trust Ryan Cowden's input on this one....

socaltitan
Trying to make this more realistic as opposed to a wish list. Vrabel alluded to wanting to upgrade backup QB at the combine. JR mentioned IOL having good depth in FA. It's been heavily rumored we're looking at adding a WR. That's why I go with these three positions. QB-Matt Moore Don't have a real strong conviction about any of the backup QB. Picked Moore because he's been a quality backup for awhile. Could see Mike Glennon. He was there when JR was in TB. I don't see Bridgewater or Bradford coming here. WR-Taylor Gabriel I think familiarity with LaFleur is why we may look at Gabriel over a Paul Richardson or John Brown. Part of me wants to say Sammy Watkins, but I don't know if we're willing to go that high. I don't really consider Gabriel an "explosive playmaker," but he has speed and offers some big play ability. He can probably be had at around 5-6 M a season. OG-Josh Sitton Has familiarity in a ZBS and won't break the bank.
tgo
@socaltitan Great, sensible list. All 3 could reasonably be JRob targets.

McKinnon really is such a perfect fit. He fits the pass catch role we need badly while being the perfect smaller, change of pace back to Henry. I guess it depends on if another team will give him more 1st & 2nd down carries, which he seems he wants.... DJ would be so perfect, I'm just a little nervous that he's at that age where he'll fall off quickly. But like you said, he's great in coverage. And he's big. It's one thing to be a good coverage LBer at 220 like all these guys coming out, but he's 6'3 245, and can also play the run & blitz. Im also a huge fan of 30+ year old FA's. Because of their age they just aren't offered deals anywhere near their recent level of play. They also usually come with a different mindset, not as concerned with individual things or money, and prioritize winning more then younger guys. DJ has always been a mature guy who "gets it" to. He's the type of under the radar FA who could give you 1-2 very good years.
AussieTitanFan08
on NFLN Total Access they were going through a list of FA and their best fits, FWIW they had McKinnon's best fit as the Titans.
Face
@tgoI forgot to mention Mewhort. I wouldn't say I dislike him, he's a good player for sure, and a real tough, blue collar guy who can run block. So there's nothing wrong with the player, though I think he's more of a man fit. But I'm just really falling in love with this interior group in the draft. It's outstanding. I think some of these guys can be great right off the bat & I don't want to go the FA route. I'd much rather bring Schwenke back, whose a great zone fit & can play all 3 interior spots. Then draft our RG.
Starkiller
1. Allen Robinson 2. Sammy Watkins 3. Sheldon Richardson I think they would like to add a big impact WR. Robinson or Watkins would both fit that bill. Not talking about both, but either would work. Richardson would be a huge boost for the pass rush if they added him. I’m still not sure what the plan really is on D or if Richardson even fits that, but you can’t have enough pass rushers.
socaltitan
Richardson screams FA bust to me. Red flags galore. Think the team that signs him will regret it much like the Jets regretted the Wilkerson signing. I don't see JR sinking that much money into the DL either. We already gave Casey a huge contract. I get the impression JR likes to spread the dollars around, much like GB and NE do.
socaltitan
I'd stay from Mewhort too. The guy has finished 3 of 4 seasons on IR. Why would you feel comfortable giving a big deal to him with that type of injury history.
