Had Fisher let McNair play the first half like the second. We’d have a ring

We played the Rams during the season, they were ready for us the second game.  There were only two team that could slow down the Rams.  The Titans and the Bucs.

We played conservative as shit that first half. It was the EG show.

I'm too young to have watched McNair extensively but when I watch Rodgers it becomes clear that he is the best player that I have personally ever watched. There is no one that has ever come close to his playmaking ability and his football IQ (that I have watched of course). Not even Brady. I'd love to have seen what he would have done with an actual coach. McCarthy is a joke and Ted Thompson continuously brings no help in (given it may be due to the fact that it is Green Bay, Wisconsin),

I don't want to get it started, but you know who was the problem.  Freeney said it.  Can you imagine the players around the league looking at how Steve had nobody to throw the ball.  It was criminal.  No QB #1 pick has ever been developed that way.  We would come out preseason, Steve would be throwing the ball all over the field.  Then when the season started, it was Eddie, Eddie, Frank.  One long ball a game to suggest we would attempt it.

Kevin Dyson?  Randy Moss sitting there and the team needs a WR.  Dyson wouldn't have even gone in the first round, but we had to prove a point.  Steve's talent was wasted.  Plain and simple.  They did get Yancey, but he wasn't the solution.  Look at the talent being brought in for Mariota.  Years of top picks on offense to help him.  They sign Decker, Davis, Taywan and Jonnu all in one offseason.  WTF did Steve ever get?

That's ^^^ more similar to Peyton Manning.  Remember when they took Dallas Clark.  They already had Pollard who was playing well and the defense sucked.

McNair was complete and total stud. He and the Titans were one dumbness personnel move away from winning a Super Bowl.

"Kevin fkn Dyson. One Yard". Could have had Randy Moss and the Titans would have a ring and who knows what else...

1999-2004. The Titans were an almost dynasty. I think they would have 3 rings from that era. 99' 00' 03'. Having Moss would have sealed it. We had the Defense. Had the RB and the Oline. Had the QB but not the passing game. Fisher also fucked us over sometimes with playing not to lose. Moss would not be a yard short. Moss likely would not have dropped the pass against NE.

Oh I know... It was Fisher and his power run philosophy. Steve made that team, and had he been allowed to play his game. We’d have a ring.

Fucking Bennett...

They didn’t take Moss because he had “issues” in college. Yet they drafted Pac-Man

That has been a real problem for the franchise.  Making statement picks.  Moss no, Dyson yes to prove anybody can play as well as Moss.  We FU not drafting Moss, so we take Pacman to show we are not scared of reps.  VY was terrible so now we will take GWH Locker.  What could go wrong?

McNair in his prime (which was far, far too short due to injury, alcohol, and generally not taking care of his body) was as good a QB as I've ever seen. His prime (when pieced together around injuries may have totaled 1-2 season's worth of games.)Seriously, there was no one that I would have rather had with 2 minutes left on the clock and down by 4.

Rodgers is amazing because he's been consistently exceptional for nearly a decade. He's also the most comfortable quarterback that I've ever seen on a field. He's so damn relaxed in the pocket and makes everything look easy. Mentally and genetically, he was built to be an NFL quarterback. IMO, he's the best QB (if you count his teams, weapons, and coaches) of this generation and in the discussion for GOAT*.

*I say "in the discussion" because you could never reasonably speak about the topic without superfluous shit that's out of Rodgers' control such as Super Bowl victories, subpar coaching, subpar overall team talent, etc...being dismissed to discredit his worth. People will always point to Brady's Super Bowl rings, but I believe if you could switch Rodgers' and Brady's situations, that Rodgers would have been even more prolific and successful than Brady, YMMV.

Remember the game in Pittsburgh when McNair was hurt. NOD wasn’t getting it done. Steve came in and threw a TD to Kinney (I believe) and won it? That was McNair. Tough SOB that willed us to victory. That’s an intangible a lot of QB’s don’t have.

McNair was my dude. I hate what happened to him...

There were so many games like that you forget about them.  People say McNair was only great for a season and a half.  Really?  Think about that.  If the guy was only great for that short amount of time, we wouldn't even be having this conversation.  One of the greatest to play the game said Steve was the toughest player he ever faced. You don't get that type respect with just a year and a half of numbers.

Steve did things for the Titans that doesn't show up in yearly stats.  Steve moved the sticks.  One yard, five yards, twenty yards.  Steve got first downs.  Game on the line, two minutes, Steve won.  That's football.  Bortles has stats.  30 years from now, somebody will look at Bortles stats and Steve's stats.  They will come to the conclusion that Bortles was probably good as McNair.  Stats.
