Oh Cmon NOD connecting the dots on what VY is really trying to say was one fo the greatest things about that era.

Check out this little Vince ditty after last week's loss against the Seahawks:

"That was just a bum-head play on my part. I should have known there was a man there. I just lost a linebacker when I released it."

Bum-Head.

Britt was hurt last year too. CJ also struggled in plenty of games last year much like this year. CJ wasn't one of the most explosive runners in history last season, not even close.

And when Collins had Britt his numbers were actually very good. He had some great games.

I'm a little confused why Collins gets so much hate and why anyone would refuse to give him any credit at all.....

And saying Hasselbeck isn't playing poorly is an understatement. He's been horrible lately

Britt tends to have that effect on QB's; their numbers look a whole lot better when he plays. Funny how that works.

I, for one, don't have anything against Collins; in fact, I very much appreciate what he did for the team. He was the consummate veteran QB when the team desperately needed one. However, while he had his strengths, he was also very streaky, and had limited upside. But his biggest issue was that in virtually any game, you could always count on Collins for two or three mind-numbingly bad plays....and in many cases, those plays were the difference in the game.

(For what it's worth, Rich Gannon talked about this same thing a while back on Sirius radio, shortly after Collins signed with the Colts. As Rich explained it, Collins has a pretty good skill set, and he's a smart and competent QB......but he's always had a tendency to make bad mistakes at critical junctures. As Rich put it, "It's not that I think Collins is a bad quarterback....I just don't trust him as a quarterback. And if you can't trust your QB, there's a problem.")

In fact, I guess that's pretty much what it boils down to: Hasselbeck may not be making plays or putting up strong numbers....but at least when he's playing, we're not constantly sitting there waiting for the other shoe drop, wondering when (not "if"...when) he's gonna have an unforced INT or fumble that gives the game away.

LOL....this just goes to show how low the bar was set for Titans fans in recent years.

You know there's a problem when the best thing you can say about your QB is, "Hey, he doesn't screw us nearly as much as those other guys did."

With all due respect to Matt......I honestly believe that Locker's upside would give the Titans a slightly better chance of winning. The Titans are going to have to start generating big plays in the passing game to have any shot at the postseason this year.....and as limited and mediocre as the WR corps has looked, I just don't see it happening with Matt at the helm.

I knew there had to be a reason I think Matt's doing so well.

LMAO at Collins haters going "Ummm,,m,,ah...yeah...he's bringing a different energy to things".

OZ the only difference why you don't hate him as much as Kerry is Matt isn't keeping your hero Vince on the sidelines.

Matt obviously does some things better than Kerry...mostly in the way he handles and avoids pressure. OTOH, he can't drop, set and hum it like Kerry could.

No, it's simply as you said - he does some things better than Kerry. The sum of those things are greater. Only thing Kerry hums these days is country music tunes.

But I'd be lying if I said it was all KC - Vince being behind him wasn't the specific thing that bothered me, even though at times VY did seem more effective. Part of my dislike for KC as our starter was it was a pure Fisher driver and I didn't believe he should have been the HC as long as he was. Same reason people joke about Nickey.

Also, my brother is a Raiders fan, and we spent seasons making fun of Kerry Collins as a Raider. Then I got my turn of KFC, lol.

The last 3 week MH hasn't thrown for over 160yds and has averaged 5yds per pass. You can't get worse at QB.

uh yes you can. You could be like Collins vs the patriots and end up with negative yardage.

Gabbert, VY, Tebow, etc. Yes, there are worse. But I agree that Hasselbeck as been bad. The sooner this franchise gets started with Locker, the better.

They both have played pretty poorly. I think the difference is that MH had a few very good games at the end of last year and the beginning of this season. He has fallen back off since then however.

If you look at his numbers over the past few years, he really has been mediocre.

Having said that, I still think he was a better option than Collins.

People who realize you can only win against the bad teams in the league playing like that

We weren't going to be competitive this year anyways. The FO handled this well IMO.

They let Matt play and locker learn, allow some of the younger players to develop and CJ to carry the load.

There is no way they could have forseen CJ playing as poorly early in the year as he did. Sure you expect some dropoff but to go from one of the most coveted players in the league to 32nd rushing is a bit much.

People thought the Bengals and 9ers might be the worst teams in the leagues. You can be competitive every year in the NFL. I think they should have just let Locker start the season but I can respect their initial plan at QB.

I don't think SF has much shot at winning the SB, but I get the point with them.

We almost beat Cincy and are tied with them by record. I'd say most people around the NFL consider us as big a surprise as Cincy and, despite his lack of statistical production, I think Hass has been a big part of our success.

I don't think they(SF, Cincy, Titans) have any shot at winning the SB myself. But he said no one expected the Titans to be "competitive", he said nothing about the SB.
