Denali
He's only human. And as an extraterrestrial said to a human once upon a time (in the future), "You see? You see? Your stupid minds! Stupid! Stupid!"
abenjami
And, while I have no way of proving this, I would bet anything that Fisher kicks the FG down 4 with 3 minutes left on 4th and goal at the 2, tries to stop Tampa 3 and out, get the ball back, and kick the winning FG. Agreed.
abenjami
We need a new poll. Who would score higher on the Wonderlic...Munchak or VY?
Alcibiades
It was odd, yeah. But the funniest to me was when we went for it on fourth down and Munchak was shown on the sidelines--yawning.
pat
I'll judge how stupid munch is by his record at the end of the year.
abenjami
OMan is trying to be another drama queen. Was it a dumb call? Sure but it wasn't like it cost the team much and I'm sure he had a voice in his head set telling him the guy was out of bounds. Basically the team played well enough to win and whatever Munch said to CJ and the OL made the difference. Now I wasn't anti Fisher like some but I don't kiss Fisher's hindside to the extent I'd slam Munch every chance I had to make Fisher look better. In truth OMan is crying in his pillow at night because his man Fisher is gone and the only thing he can do now is bash the guy who replaced him. Is it childish? Sure it is.But hey, some of us like drama. You really believe the difference was simply Munch's speech to the OL and CJ? That's pretty ridiculous if you ask me. OILERMAN
The facts are it was the dumbest challenge I've ever seen in the NFL. Forget everything else, it was flat out stupid

TF_Titan
Yes, it would have been a first down either way, but there was a difference of probably 15 yards of field position. I can tell you from the stadium replay it looked like he didn't get the second foot down. He really wasn't risking much...losing a timeout in the first half is not a big deal and he still had another challenge left.

Mercalius
It was a boneheaded challenge, no way around it. But going so far to call Munchak "stupid" is being a bit overzealous. He's made some calls I haven't been fond of, but he's made some ballsy decisions that have directly resulted in us getting wins when the outcome otherwise might have left us with losses. He's made us competitive this year without Kenny Britt, with an iffy Chris Johnson, a D-line that can't pressure a teenager into drinking, and (as you seem to put it) - a very mediocre, if not terrible, starting quarterback. We're still in the playoff hunt and we're already at the win number that most people on this board anticipated before the season started. If he's stupid, he's a damn good overachiever. OILERMAN
The Titans were favored to beat TB, and off the top of my head favored in every win this season outside of the Ravens who have lost to all bad teams this season. They also lost to a bad Bucs team. I'd say the Titans are about where they should be. And I don't think the Titans have a remote chance of making the playoffs. The funny thing about Hass is...while you're calling him a very mediocre, if not terrible starting QB... He's on pace to have the most passing yards in a single season by a QB in Titans history Right now, he's averaging 228.5 yards per game which would have him on pace for 3,656 passing yards Mac's best year in terms of passing yards was 3,387 (in 02) A past his prime 36 year old QB in his first season with a new team is on pace to be the Titans all time leader in passing yards in a single season Hass currently has 2,517 passing yards, which means he needs 871 yards passing these next 5 games to top Mac's career high Mac never threw more than 24 TD in a season. His next best seasons were 22 and 21 TD passes Hass currently has 15 TD with 5 games to go. I think Munch has done a really good job and brought a lot of positive and good changes Still a work in progress, but we're way better than I thought we were going to be
OILERMAN
Yea and there are about 4 or 5 guys on pace to beat Marino's passing yds record and rookie QBs are throwing for tons of yds. Passing yards are much easier to come by than even 5 or 10 years ago.
