So, if you start bringing in the guys with shorter careers like Terrell Davis or Calvin Johnson, does that mean Patrick Willis gets serious consideration?

I wouldn't be shocked to see Willis get in eventually. He's in the conversation for top LBs of all time. The longevity was always the question.

Calvin Johnson had a shorter career? He played 9 years.

As for Willis, no I don't think he will get HOF consideration. TD had a better claim despite the short career.

Production wise in totality, not much different.

Of all HOF RBs, TD has arguably one of the worst if not the worst career numbers. So again, for someone to question his HOF status is very fair.

It's fair to question it. I said it's debateable whether he deserved to be voted in.

But the fact that it's debateable means it could go either way. Now we know which way the voters went...

Why does Terrell Davis deserve it?

Thats some BS. Yeah he had a killer year... and a damn good follow up year... and then a decent year. and then he was done.

WTF????

CJ deserves to be in then.

Eddie George deserves to be in.

If odell beckham retires now he deserves to be in.

you cant have 2 good years and get in the HOF because your TEAM won a superbowl.

HOF is a sham.

Complete joke Terrell Davis gets in and Terrell Owens doesn't.

Absolutely laughable and a disgrace to the Hall.

Andy Benoit actually said today that he didn't think Owens deserved to get in and I thought he made a strong case.

He said he was so decisive 3 teams got rid of him in his prime and he had a negative effect on all 3 teams on the field. He argued his antics hurt his teams as much as his production helped them. He turned on every QB.

He said last year when they debated him behind closed doors Owens was ripped to shreds and stuff was talked about the public doesn't even know.

Not saying I agree or disagree but pointing out he actually hurt the team on the field was interesting

As I mentioned before, I can't think of anyone in the HOF who was considered such a massive locker room cancer that multiple teams dumped him in his prime despite being a great player.

But can you name a locker room cancer that put up HOF worthy numbers?

Not offhand, but I'm sure there have been plenty of divisive guys in the NFL who made the HOF. But none of them have ever been so big of a problem that their teams cut him despite HOF caliber numbers.

TO really is a different breed. I can't think of anyone that was as big of a distraction that did what he did. As Was pointed out he may have hurt his team with his personality but he is still one of the greatest WRs to play the game. Moss was a shitty guy to have in the locker room until the very end of his career. The fact that he has become a tv personality will help him out.

Guys that have been tied to issues off field have gotten in and will get it. I still think TO gets in eventually. The hall just likes to make the WRs wait it out.

Charles Haley?  Of course, It took him a while to get there.

Haley was a nut job but I think he was respected. He was more of a headache for the organization than the locker room. Players kind of accepted him for who he was and that was a crazy person.

Well, he did build a powerhouse franchise. One of the largest fanbases in the country. Huge venue.

What are you talking about? He bought the Cowboys around 1989---They had long been "America's Team" by that time...They sucked in 1960 and they still suck...

"Hail to the Redskins"!!!

That's a complete sham argument and nothing more than creating an excuse to justify not voting for a guy you don't like as a person.

Dude is #2 in all-time receiving yards and #3 all-time in receiving TD's.  Not HOF worthy?  LMFAO

What's ironic is people in the media not voting for him when his "antics" let them make more money by giving them stories to cover, etc.

Why did 3 teams get rid of the 2nd all time receiver in his prime?
