I agree that's how it almost always goes... but it might get interesting if Mariota looks like this the rest of the year and we have a top 5 pick.

Who does AAS love more? Mularkey or Mariota?

I don't think Mariota is the kind of guy to fuck her in the ass or give her a reach around so you decide...

Through all his faults, I'd take Mariota and another coaching staff over this coaching staff and another QB.

This. There is still a bit of unknown with Mariota. With Mularkey, you know exactly what you're going to get. A whole bunch of suck.

As of right now I'd bet the coaches get another year barring a complete collapse. They have been in these games.

What if they end up with 4 or 5 wins at the end of the year and Mariota still looks awful and the stadium is only half full?  Hard time trying to convince the suckers...err fans that Mularkey deserves another year.

That's what will happen if Mariota doesn't improve. It always happens. The coaches get thrown overboard first.

This isn't Mularkey's first rodeo. You think he's getting a bad rap now? Like his previous stints in Buffalo and  Jacksonville didn't tell us all that we needed to know?

He is what everyone with a fucking brain already knew: a spread QB who cannot be developed without playing to his strengths.

If Kelly gets fired in SF would you bring him in to coach Mariota?

What spread QBs are doing well in the NFL?

I know Cam had a good year last year but that year was kind of an outlier, anyone else? I'm seriously asking

It's a recipe for disaster to move on from a head coach less than halfway through your QBs rookie year when he's playing well and then move on from the new coach that next year because the QB is playing poorly. You should expect it to some extent.

Mularkey couldn't get it done before Tennessee or as interim and he still can't now. Why should AAS start worrying about results now?
