In all fairness we did invest well in the secondary in FA. We got the guys that were available and that DLB wanted. We picked up DLB's preferred field-general type Safety in Byard and Reed at CB as well. Both of whom have the pass-tracking skills, timing and ball skills that this secondary lacked last year. I was among the first to bitch about our secondary collapses losing us games last year, and even I'm okay with the secondary improvements. I can't wait to see it on the field with DLB calling the schemes. Byard and Reed may not start right away, but they seem like really good additions to me, from the tape I've watched. The bottom line is, we've added 6 new players to the secondary since the close of the '15 season. While they may not be all-pros, they apparently fit the scheme, and allowed us to fill the holes left by Sensabaugh and Griff. And let's face it, losing those two amounts to addition by subtraction. I'm far from ecstatic about the Henry pick, but if Mularkey and Robiskie scheme things right I think he'll be a nice addition. I certainly don't agree with PFF's assessment about him being among the worst picks in the 2016 draft. But I don't agree with those guys 80% of the time anyway. The way the guy is built and the way he runs once he clears the LOS, he really only needs to break one or two runs a game to make an impact. If he can get us 3-5 yards/carry, I'm good with it.
