Good.  Up to now the speculation was all about Balt wanting an OT.  The fewer OTs off the board by 15, the greater the odds we can get that out of the way early and get to work on the secondary in the 2nd round.

He did not blitz much at all in the film I saw. He was in coverage a ton, and played very, very well there. I think he has traits (explosion, physicality, strong punch to disengage from blocks) to be a good pass rusher, but it is a projection. His run support and coverage are no projections, he's elite.

I watched a few games of this guy, not really interested. I'd put Jordan Jenkins, Dadi Nicolas and Victor Ochi above him in the mid rounds.

Its based on watching him. When they talk about doing it all, they are talking about it from an ILB position. Pass rush isn't a feature of that spot and he hasn't really been asked to be that for UCLA. If you want him to be a pass rusher, he has the physical upside to learn it and do it but the edge is not his spot.

 

What he can do is enter the league as the best coverage LB. You can play him at WIL and he will be one of the best run-stuffers at that spot. You can play him 5-7 yards off the LOS and give him both a gap and TE to cover. You can play him every down, in every formation, against every offense.

Thanks everyone. I'm not against drafting him. I just wonder about what he would and would not do for us. We definitely could use an ILB that could cover TEs and RBs, that's for sure.

Of course Ozzie is looking at Bosa, it's his tried & proven formula, draft stud front 7 players. Kids who produced on the big stage, not in tights in Indy.
