headhunter Posted March 25, 2016 Report Share Posted March 25, 2016 Well I just got done watching it, and my overall reaction is that it's solid with some obvious negatives. Ill start with the postives. It's not as bad as Man of Steel. Lol it's still too long but it showcased Batman way more than any character in the movie. Surprisingly Affleck convinced me he's Bruce Wayne, in fact I prefer his portrail of Bruce than Bale because he's alot closer to the comics than Bale ever was. Bale tried to be a good hearted hero and Batman is not that at all. You can tell Afflecks Bruce is still pissed off about his parents death. I would like to see more of Affleck as Batman in the future. Another positive is Wonder Woman. Just her look kinda steals the scene, she has great appeal and thats saying something because I'm not a fan of Wonder Woman in the comics. I actually think her standalone movie has the potential to be the best DC has to offer. The negatives. Jessie Eisenberg, wtf are doing in this movie? He tried soooo hard to be Heath Ledgers joker with his mannerisms and his narcism. He's just too damn nerdy for me. He's not Lex Luther, he's that nerdy guy from that other movie. Poor casting choice for Lex Luther. Superman or Henry Cavill (sp) needs a crutch or two in every future appearance in DC movies. He's just a supporting character to me because the actor/director just portrays him that way. Henry has no personality at all as Superman, he has the look but i've never found myself rooting for him. I wish I had more to say but he's not that appealing as Superman. And last, this is a Zack Snyder film unfortunately, so it's gonna feel like every movie he's ever directed. A dull, sappy visual experience is all I can about his work and this is no exception. Even though I rate it a solid movie, it's neither terrible or great. What got me, when watching the trailer, was when Batman was tied up and Superman casually pulled Batman's hood off his head. lol Whoever designed that costume should be fired. It's supposed to be a full bodysuit! You're not supposed to just grab it and pull it off his head like it's a damn cap or something! lol It's supposed to be made into his bodysuit. wut da phuk. I think the scene youre talking about was just Bruce having a dream and the cowl came off because he really wasn't wearing his batsuit at the time, more like special ops gear with a trench coat over it. I'll give it a chance and go see it. I wasn't convinced Gal Gadot at 105 pounds is Wonder Woman. If it was the lead actress from the Blindspot or someone like her, it would have been better. They could have shorten the final battle scene and use some of the minutes developing the story line around the massacre at the village. Hollywood has lost their damn minds if they can't even follow a storyline and get some accuracy in the cast of characters. Maybe the future WoWo movie storyline will have her being a runt Amazon warrior that was malnourished her whole childhood and that is why she didn't quite fully develop. Anyway... Turns out that the Drive-In double feature tomorrow is Bman vs. Sman. We might just go for something to do but the second movie is Eddie the Eagle. Although it might be a nice feel good type movie with Hugh Jackman carrying it, I'm not sure I wanna stay for all of that one unless it really pulls me in. So, still not sure yet. Without going into detail I thought the reason Batman fought was pretty good and we'll developed. But the reason Superman fought was contrived, lame and almost down right lazy. And they should've left Doomsday and that storyline out of it. I assume it's well known that he's in it anyway. WG53 Posted March 26, 2016 Report Share Posted March 26, 2016 I liked it. Mainly because Affleck did Batman justice. He was a dark character. Unlike Bale's goofball BW. Gal Galbot did WW/Diana well.
