I would like for some of you seasoned guys to listen to this interview and give opinions.  I thought JR gave some really clear and definite answers to the question.  He didn't sound fuzzy or intentionally over technical.  All the questions were easily answerable, but he didn't leave you thinking he was simplifying it for the listener.  WR.  We want guys who can catch the football.  Not speed, highlight catches, just catch the ball.  Mariota throws a very catchable ball and is highly capable of throwing it to a spot.  If we have guys who can finish the deal, the offense is going to score points.

Maybe it's because JR is personable, but I have a lot of faith in his ability to bring in talent.  I can't pat AAS on the back, but this is looking like one of the better offseason hires in the NFL.

Should've just named him HC and GM. In all seriousness, his personality and demeanor is very simliar to that of a coach, much more so than Webster.

Seems totally in his element there at the combine. Infinitely more comfortable than he was at the presser. And that's A-ok with me.

As for the interview content, nothing earth-shattering, but I enjoyed hearing about his grading system and that he's a tough grader. LT being a 9 out of 10 spoke to that. Not sure if they were saying we hadn't done this in the past, but it was intersting to hear him say how they were going to be much more specific when grading players and ranking them, i.e. 4th CB who can play special teams vs 3rd CB who can't play special teams.

Tampa did a veey nice job in the draft, alibg the lines of the oline and skill positions.

Which is the part that enticed me the most and made me more interested in him than Ballard. TB the past few years has gotten some good skill players. Licht and Robinson inherited a bad OL and were able to improve it. Much better this year. With Ballard, it seemed like he was mostly credited for helping to draft some very good defensive players. That's good, but I wanted the guy who can build the best around Mariota.

This guy doesn't sound like a farm system guy like the last 2 frauds

No he doesn't. Sounds like we may actually get some REAL foorball players for a change. I mean, imagine that... 3rd downs that don't end in weeping and gnashing of teeth because Bambi or toeless Joe Wright dropped the damn ball.

I hoped to hear what he's saying about the WR's, which is pretty much the opposite of what we've been drafting. Mariota needs WR's more like what Brady has most often had success with imo.

Good catch on Ali Marpet as well. He looked very good in the Sr Bowl last year and was one I'd like to have seen us draft. I wonder if he'll again go for that type of athletic OL instead of a mauler like Poutasi.

Mark my words...

Tyler Boyd will be a game changer day 1 at WR... Him and Michael Thomas...

I really really like Will Fuller... I need to study him more... I'm not sure how he is across the middle? Is he purely a deep threat? Can he grow into a possession type as well? I need to review more of him...

A guy that reminds me a lot of Justin Hunter in the draft is Josh Doctson... I stay away from him

I really really dig Pharaoh Cooper also, and wouldn't rule out Leontee Carroo... If not for off field troubles he would be a late 1st pick... Carroo is a stud

2 RB's to watch out for that could be starters for us in the middle to late rounds are Kenyan Drake and Kelvin Taylor... These guys have every down back potential, and are very solid players...

Drake has that HR ability, and if it wasn't for Henry ahead of him he would be talked about as being up there with Elliot in the draft.

I watched a few games of his, and unless he doesn't consistently play like what I saw, he does not have two of the biggest flaws Hunter has 1) bad body control 2) bad hands. Hunter is an uncoordinated mess, Doctson looked like the opposite. Both are skinny, weak guys if you want to go there, but that's not very significant imo.

DL (Bosa) OL (Tunsil) WR (Treadwell) are the strongest meaning deepest?

Sounds like a set up to take Ramsey....

Be prepared!!

I'm all for any of those 4 players at #1 with Bosa being the #4 guy...

I want Ramsey or Tunsil before Treadwell or Bosa
