Okay, so I am working hard on getting the new site design ready so we can go ahead and upgrade. I am kind of stuck trying to figure our which style header and navigation to go with. Here are some options and I am going to throw in a poll. Feel free to pick elements from more than one or suggest another one altogether. Just focus on the header and navigation, and not the overall site.

I plan on taking the day off on Monday and working on knocking this out as much as possible.

I definitely prefer the sportsnet header/navigation design to the others. Something sleek, clean, straightforward, easy.

I think I just came up with something between the Sportsnet and ESPN ones. Will update on here with the design once it's done.

This is kind of what I am thinking at the moment:

I voted for Sportsnet, but I actually like this one the best.  Although I don't understand why there is a slight color change around Blogs.

Whoop whoop Canada in da house. Damn Guru how did you find Sportsnet? Hockey fan or something?

Sportsnet is owned by Bell Media which is a massive media conglomeration and potential future owners of the Toronto Titans.

Yeah, I'm a hockey fan, too. Obviously a Predators fan since they've been here (was there for their first goal and first win against Carolina), but followed Toronto and L.A. before then. I was at the entry draft when it was in Nashville and somehow ended up sitting with the players being drafted. Not clue if it was by design or if they messed up and I ended up being directly behind Eric Staal when he was drafted.

A little late to the party here, but that jmagz header    I love that.  Also really like the ESPN header, but the minimalist of the jmagz is just beautiful. I like them both!

Obviously just a rough mockup and the logo would definitely need to stand out more, but I really dig this.

They all look ok to me.

My biggest suggestion would be to make the menus easier to navigate no matter which format you choose.  I don't love the current format, it requires multiple clicks to get from some places to others.  For example, there should be a way for me to go from the off topic forum to the Titans/NFL forum in one click.  If there is currently a way to do that, I haven't figured it out.  I think they should either be listed in a hierarchy format like the Reader board does, or have one of those drop down menus at the top where you move your mouse over it and the menu drops down.

I prefer simple when it comes to a message board, as i'm primarily looking to read/post and don't need to be distracted by fancy buttons, icons and other stuff I don't want to spend the time to figure out what they do.

That's exactly what I hope to achieve with the new design. Simple, clean, but nice looking.
