abenjami
Brad Hopkins, Zac Piller, BRUCE MATTHEWS. What did it get them? 3 QB's who always got hurt anyway.
Dikinbaus
Would you have preferred a trade down then? Absolutely, I would've wanted to trade with the 9ers (if the speculative trade were to be true and we get there 2 2nd rounders along with 30). It's not sexy at all but I get why they did it

NFLStudent
Building for the future. Either Locker succeeds or we draft/sign his replacement next year. It's not a sexy pick and it sure seemed like they were using as much time as possible to trade the pick. What future? This team is entering the fourth year with a QB and they still don't have a clue of who he really is? They are starting over again at running back. Switching scheme on defense. Question....When in the 'future' is it going to be time to stop building for the future? When is this team going to be ready for prime time?

Jonboy
I actually don't hate it, but would have preferred we trade down given who was still on the board. Really wanted that 3rd rounder back or even better...an additional 2nd.

They are starting over again at running back. Switching scheme on defense. Question....When in the 'future' is it going to be time to stop building for the future? When is this team going to be ready for prime time? I agree with every word you say ... right up until the conclusion that the team made a mistake. I don't think there was a QB on the board that was a sure thing, or even a definitive upgrade over Jake. I also think that the way this draft is going, there is a great chance that we stumble into the QB we wanted at the top of the 2nd. It will cost us another 3rd next season, but would be worth it if the guy turns out to be viable. However, the pre draft stat that I won't forget is that if 32 teams in the NFL don't move up into the top 5 to take the QB, then the likelihood of the guy being a long term successful starter is less than 20%. I think Lewan has a very good chance to be an NFL starting LT for 7+ years. Premium position. Dealing with Clowney and Watt in Houston. We gave ourselves a chance to protect against these guys. Locker might get one more year to prove that he can play. Or he might get replaced by an early second rounder (though I would much prefer Tre Mason). Give it 3 days to see the total picture and then weigh back in.

code
Supposedly there was an offer and we turned it down. Looking forward to hearing what it was. My preference was trade down for additional picks. But the Texans decision to draft Clowney might have caused Titans to react by finding a player who can be used to stop him. Or Lewan was simply too good of a player at too premium of position to pass him. Or Barr and Ebron coming off of the board left us in a tough slot. Or Bortles being gone. Or I just don't know. I like the Lewan pick. Not real passionate about it. But I could see it three weeks ago so I can see it today.
scine09
It's amazing how predictable it is as to which posters weren't going to like the pick and what those specific posters thought that the Titans should have done.
