LOL. Well if you really don't care then don't bother responding to this post where I say it's obvious you and your 12,000+ posts care way too much and you often turn into a huge bitch when someone else makes a really good argument and you realize they have a very good point contrary to whatever jibberish you were spouting off.

Back on topic, I shall now root for Manziel even more after his pro day. Dude worked out in his helmet and shoulder pads.

I dont care how many yards he threw for or ran for in college. Its not an indicator of success in the NFL.

He "does it" because it worked for almost 8000 yards passing and over 2000 yards rushing over a two year period. That is what you are missing. Thinking things through is not our strong point. Was it basically back yard football? Of course it was. But you are mistaking that for some kind of chronic disease the guy has. As if he is programmed to do that and only that. Are there risks taking a guy like that? Of course there are. Newton was a risk as was Kaepernick. Kaepernick ran for over 1000 yards three years in a row in college. These are kids in college doing what they do to win football games. Not trying to impress some scout. The positive is Manziel like Kaep or Newton can continue to do what it takes to win games in the NFL. If that means being more disciplined then that is what I'd expect them to do.

The other part of this is we have seen "pro style" QBs come out of college by the dozens that have been total failures. Plenty of guys that fit the mold better from a stylistic standpoint but lacked vision and anticipation. And just because Manziel took off a little early in his progressions doesn't mean he didn't see receivers and make accurate throws. And when Manziel did stay in the pocket and get the ball out he wasn't bad at all. He was able to find the passing lanes and showed adequate timing, touch and accuracy. You don't throw for 4000 yards in college by being a dud throwing the ball.

I posted this before, but again, I'm glad you brought this point up. QBs tend to be type casted based on how they play in college, as if it's impossible for them to adapt or learn new things. Certain types of offenses work very well in college, and college coaches could care less that these offenses don't showcase what scouts want to see from a QB. They're trying to win games. There's a reason you see so many of these wide open spread O's in college with mobile QBs, because they work. What Manziel did in college worked about as good as you can ask for. But that does not mean that he cannot handle an NFL offense. Players get better & do things that they couldn't do as rookies, it really does happen. I get why Manziel isn't for everybody. I also get that he's riskier than most QBs. What I don't get is how some can just totally disregard what he did in college, totally disregard his talent. I mean, this kid is just electrifying. He just has so much talent and innate ability. How can you watch him on TV & not fantasize about having him on your team? I read one scout called him the Barry Sanders of QB's....I agree with him.

Considering there were no defenders it does not matter.

Did you see some of those throws? He dropped two 60 yarders on a dime while rolling out, one across his body. I think people are making too big of a deal about the pads and helmet, but the kid made some insane throws.

I heard a few guys talking about how good a deep ball he throws, how he puts the perfect loft on it. The deep ball is almost like a natural, feel type throw that's independent from the other throws. It's more than having a big arm & accuracy, some guys just have that feel for it, they let it go at the perfect time with the perfect loft & it just seems to fall perfectly. Other guys either wait too long & wind up under throwing or they put too much loft or not enough. VY's actually a perfect example, he was a poor passer but even I'll admit he threw a gorgeous deep ball, one of the best in the game. And Volek's was beautiful as well, dude threw teardrops. McNair on the other hand took awhile to develop his deep ball, he always took too long to let it go, and the receiver would have to slow up. Anyway, now that my rants over, Manziel's deep ball looked great, and I read some reports that said the same.
