Is that a serious question? First of all we are talking about a BACKUP QB. One word...experience. Do you want a guy coming into the game that has been in every game situation multiple times or a guy that can count his NFL starts on one hand.

I don't want a guy with a lot of failing experience. That's Fitz.

Fitz is not O'Donnell, Collins or Hasselbeck. Those guys at least had some glory days to look back on.

I rather have Whitehurst lack of history vs Fitz losing history.

The only thing i don't like about our backup is lack of experience.Especially if we get to a 8-4 type record and Jake gets hurt because then thats when Wiz is going to wish he would've brought in a more solid backup.

I rather have played Rusty over Fitz last year.

Why do you want to play the known loser vs the unknown?

Never said Whitehurst was the answer but to pretend like he's a complete failure because no coach believed in him is not a good reason.

I could see what you're saying if this was a 3rd year kid that just wasn't getting a shot. You say no coach believed in him, that's because they see him in practice. Pete Carroll gave him a shot to win a job against Tarvarris Jackson. He lost. It's been 8 years since he's been in the league, if a guy can play, coaches would know after 8 years. That said, Wiz is our coach. If he believes in this,

so be it.

Coaches get it wrong ALL THE TIME. I need to see him play first.

hahahaha. I was just countering on those two claims alone. I do NOT think Whitehurst is the next Gannon. I'm actually upset about the signing. I preferred Fitz. In fact, I think he played well for us last season and should have been kept. However, Wiz sees something in Whitehurst...hell if I know what.

He has played. He sucked.

He cannot get on the field because he sucks.

You have stupid ideas all the time. This line of thinking is yet another example.

Agreed on CW, but I liked Fitz OK...for what he was. He put up enough points that our defense should have stepped up and helped us win some more games. I know he threw some bad picks, but he was trying to force things when he shouldn't have been in that position, IMO...plus, he got zero help from the run game, for obvious reasons. So I FAR prefer Fitz to CW. In fact, I find the Whitehurst ,move baffling. I just don't like when people generalize that a QB that hasn't broken out before 30 will never have success. I guess I could have used Warner...

In any case, it does look like I was trying to defend the Whitehurst signing, so mea culpa.

Warner was in his 20s when he broke out. 27 I believe. He's a bad comparison because he hadn't spent 8 years in the NFL as well.
