TITANS vs CHARGERS

Number9

I love how a Titans offense averaging 16.5 points per game is being predicted to score 30+ against the Chargers. They are out of sync and killing themselves with bad penalties, lackluster QB play, and terrible coaching. Hard to believe it just all clicks this week.

Where is your prediction?

I actually think that Greg Williams will have a game plan in place to hold the Chargers offense in check. SD is having to travel from Philly last week and now back to Nashville and that's in the Titans favor. I think the Titans can move the ball but I don't know about getting into the end zone and I have no confidence in the offense overall.

It will probably be a low scoring ugly game like the first two. Can the offense take the pressure off the defense, unlike against the Texans? If the offense can't do enough I fear Rivers will win it late like Schaub did.

No solid feeling on a final score, but think between the combo of media/fan pressure and SD's suspect secondary (also crappy run game #s and Greene still gone), we will throw it a bit more often, earlier and longer.  As such, Locker probably gets at least 1 pick.  Speculating he goes about 17/31 for around +/- 200 yd and 1 maybe 2,  td/1 int.

Guessing about 27 TEN, 23 SD.  We finally get the SD monkey off our backs.... maybe.  Predicting with confidence that if we don't all hell breaks lose and we have at least 2 threads calling for Fitz.

From the betting side, a 7 pt teaser with SD at +10 and the over at 34 looks not so bad.

Damn I wish Greene was back. If the Titans are gonna have the same type of sucky play calling as the last game then they better play Battle for most of the downs.

And the team overall needs to realize that there are four quarters in every game. They do good for one or two series then look like they quit for a while.

I'm watching the Longhorn game right now (they just showed VY on the side LOL).......I would take any of the RB's in this game to start over CJ in the next Titans game. Them boys run hard all the time. Hell man, just go watch college highlights from today's games and watch all the RB's kicking ass instead of studdering and bobbing up and down like CJ does so much.

We have a game this week? I didn't think we were done picking the flesh off the last one. I mean it's only Saturday.

Unfortunately, our turnover luck turns and Philip Rivers exposes our defense.

It gets ugly, 42-13 Chargers.

Munch should be canned Monday if that happens.

I think this week will be a good test of Mike Munchak.  His team just had a demoralizing loss.  A game they had won through stellar defensive play and some bad field goal kicking got away from them.  His hand picked qb blew an easy throw that could have sealed the game.  What could have put his team on top of the division and looking to have an easy road to the playoffs, evaporated.  Now, can Munchak get his defense to play at that same level again, when it looks like no matter what they do the offense can't put points on the board?  Can he get Jake's ear and get him to shut out all the negative comments about his game against Houston?  Can he get Jake to come out and put a whole game together?

I may be wrong, but for some reason I don't think Jake Locker really cares what people (us and the media) think about his play on the field.

He just wants to win. His biggest problem is he gets too hyped when the big play needs to be made, and screws it up.

Like I said, I may be wrong, but this is what it seems to me.

14 carries for 34 yards.

Come on, gang.

Without Greene we're back to backups who literally can't produce. Giving Battle carries is the opposite of a good idea and his play so far proves it. Dislike CJ's running style, criticize his average being under four, note yards you think he left on the field, complain about his salary... but be remotely realistic with the alternatives. Right now there isn't one.

IDK.  Maybe it doesn't bother him what people think when he makes a bad play that could have sealed the game.
