  1. we would have the giants first round pick next draft...so the Titans still would have had a good shot at getting the #1 pick and trading for a haul. It comes down to which QB turns out to be the better one. The only advantage beyond that for Ward would be his rookie contract. I find it hard to say that the Titans wouldn't be better off right now with Darnold, Carter and 2 1st round draft pics in the next draft one of which belongs to the Giants.
  2. if they had gone after Darnold it would have been a commitment that was going to last more than one year. The roster still needed a lot of work but they would have more draft capital to speed that process up. thinking that Darnold was going to come in and make this team a contender right away wouldn't have been a reasonable approach...still needed to be a multi year rebuild.
  3. i don't think it's just the young QBs...it's become a big part of the position in general.
  4. the only thing that made Daniel Jones an upgrade at the QB position was the fact that he was going to a team that had Anthony Richardson as their starter...a guy who was barely even a QB
  5. yeah but if we had signed darnold no one would have ever known the vikes fucked up
  6. Ive noticed it a few times. I think it helps out young QBs to be able have enough athleticism to use their legs to supplement their game during the adjustment period to the NFL. I'm not sure Cam has much of that in his game....did he do much much running in college?
  7. I thought they should have gone after Mac Jones and let him and Will compete... maybe you get lucky with Mac and he turns into to something but mostly just getting those pics and the best player on the board in Abdul.
  8. there were some FA QBs available also so not like it had to be Will. I could have lived with it also!
  9. A win today probably solves the issue of Amy meddling for quite some time. Probably the only thing she really wants out of this season.
  10. I agree with this I'm just ok with it it's a bad look but still justified for the most part
  11. I would think Brink and Borg wanted to wait till the bye for obvious reasons....time for the coaches to transition and the players are pretty much out of the building and don't have to come right back to work and face all the questions from the media...etc etc Amy...I think she knew that allowing Vrabel to come in and deliver the death blow was going to put the Titans back in the news cycle for only the second time this season...the first was Cam calling his team ass. While the move won't completely kill the story of Vrabel coming home and destroying his former team....by throwing up the white flag before it happens it does kinda let a little of the steam out of it. Instead of a tale of revenge...its shifted to just kinda being sad. Vrabel beating Callahan would have put all the focus on both Amy and Callahan....that's not the case so much now.
  12. but it does seem as though none of these MFs were doing their jobs...at least not very well.
  13. you keep making the assumption that they have to have 2 tds and at least one 2 pt conversion too much time left to make that assumption
  14. basically what we have been saying.... When down 9 points late-ish, there’s a case that you should go for 2, because being down 8, you would have to go for 2 to draw even eventually anyway, and it’s better to know whether you converted your attempt earlier so you can make tactical adjustments. Although this logic seems sound, the data doesn’t suggest the effect is very significant (if it exists at all). and I think the later in the fourth you get the more it becomes obvious you should go for 2 due to the fact your chances of getting multiple possessions becomes less likely without dramatically adjusting the way you play the game.
  15. keep hearing this but I would like to know the actual percentages of each decision...I'm fine with basing your decision on that... that's not the same as saying you gotta go for to know if you need 1 score or 2. I understand that approach if less time on clock and you probably only gonna get one more possession....need to know what to do. over 10 mins IMO changes that approach cause your perfectly capable of getting 2 possessions that you need without onside kicks or forcing the ball down the field
  16. I understand your logic behind going for it...just don't completely agree. I simply would prefer to keep it a 1 score game...over 10 mins left...3 timeouts and the 2 min warning....still gonna play it like it's a 2 score game. Gonna have to stop the other team at least twice (unless they do that for you like the Cards) and should be able to get 2 possesions. nothing says I have to manage the clock like it's a 1 score game but that option is still there as opposed to it being a 2 score game where that option has been eliminated.
  17. if you're down by 8 pts with over 10 mins left you should still know what you have to do and be able to approach the game accordingly. I guess I don't understand the logic of risking being down by 2 scores just so I know I'm down by 2 scores. being down by 8 pts give me more options as to how to play out the game. the TD and 2 pt conversion option is still there if it comes down to it. doesn't matter cause we missed the fuckin extra pt.
  18. ignoring the fact that the opposing team gains the same information and can use it to their advantage just as easily is what IMO makes it meaningless. if you decide to go for it you better get or your fucked...it's really that simple. Callahan needs to feel confident he has a play to convert...if not...kick it
  19. it wasn't the middle of the 4th if it were 7mins left then you absolutely should go for 2 there was over 10 mins left in game...it makes a difference.
  20. it wasn't the middle of the 4th if it were 7mins left then you absolutely should go for 2 there was over 10 mins left in game...it makes a difference.
  21. yeah I think either decision...2 pts or extra point...makes sense I lean to just taking the extra point and keeping it a 1 score game...but that's cause I think 11 mins is plenty of time to get 2 more possessions anyway. I would still play reasonably up tempo knowing that I may still need 2 scores. but if I felt like I had a play that I trusted and a team that I trusted to execute it I could easily make a case to go for 2
  22. not a lot of teams in the league you can run that play against raiders are one of those teams... but so are the titans. I'm more concerned the raiders try to run that play against us hopefully Wilson spends some extra time preparing the defense in case it happens
  23. with 11 mins left I think either choice is OK there I look at it like this ..if I'm the opposing coach I want you to go for the 2 pt conversion also cause I also wanna know what you gotta do to win the game. if the clock is closer to like 8 minutes then you gotta go for 2
