I would say short term survival/procreation is the idea for natural selection. Human level intelligence and ability to manipulate our surroundings breaks Evolution to an extent. Or should I say we rewrote the rules for better or worse. We completely broke a few animals playing god, sorry pugs. We also made some plants and animals vastly more useful from the human perspective through manipulation. Some idiots who would never have survived do now and people who could not now do so for the betterment of society. I would still argue there is no goal when you dont have one living thing trying to steer another.

You missed the point. If that were the case he'd have said it years ago.

..or they saw how he finished the season and gives hope for how this season will play out. And they don’t put all their stock in how he looked in preseason.
