ctm
He's damn sure building the Rams the right way Tied for the league lead in sacks, elite coverage units and surrounding Bradford with as much as talent as possible The most important pieces, as you often point out, are the QB and pass rushers. They were in place when he got there.
OILERMAN
....not counting the playoffs. I'm 100% confident Munchak will not lose a single playoff game this season!

I know he has nothing to do with any success the Rams have, total coincidence the Rams went from middle of the pack to leading the league in sacks and Bradford having his best year. I also doubt he had any role in locking up Long, adding Brockers and getting Hayes
reo
I actually really like what they're doing. For starters people look at them building the line and think they're building a power running game. I disagree. They're building a running game. But they've also got good weapons in the passing game. They've got Britt coming back a year removed from the ACL and they're banking (right or wrong) on him being back to form. Then they've got Wright coming off an impressive rookie year and they added a very talented deep threat in Hunter. Those are some potentially impressive weapons to go along w/ what should be a strong running game. In 3 wide formations, you've got 2 deep threats and 1 intermediate target who could be a very impressive route runner and then they've got Walker as the check down target. He won't be asked to do anything too difficult in the passing game, things that Cook was asked to do. He'll be asked to be an easy and consistent 3-4 yd target for Locker when the deep pass isn't there. And on top of that they should be able to run it pretty much at will from 3 wide w/ the line their building and Walker which creates opportunities in the passing game. On defense they're focusing on what everyone is forgetting about. Sure they sucked vs the pass last year but what killed them was the run. Teams ran it on us at will and then ran play action. That's a huge part of why our pass D sucked. They couldn't stop the run so they're getting bigger on the DL. In the passing D, they're going to blitz and they're going to blitz often. This will give up big plays but it will also create big plays. They're going to give up points but this offense should be able to score points to match until the D forces a turnover. This team will live and die by well Locker and the offense plays this year.
scine09
I'm 100% confident Munchak will not lose a single playoff game this season! Will he go 3-0 or will the Titans go the wild card route and go 4-0?
Jd8
We got the pieces to be a playoff team now it all comes down to Locker. The Young defense is going to suprise alot of people this year. It all comes down to Locker if he can play like a legit QB. The thing I dont want too see is Locker get another pass after this year. He either shows he can be a starting QB or we go a different direction. Im completely on Lockers side but I think he has too show everyone this is his team THIS YEAR. OILERMAN
I'll wait and judge Locker by how things unfold, he could have a poor year and still deserve another year
ctm
The fact that they traded up for Hunter shows that they aren't all in with the running game. Titans are trying to build a complete offense. Titans aren't flawed, they just aren't complete yet.
scine09
In all seriousness Oilerman, knowing that Locker is going to be the QB, what do you expect them to do? They have what should be one of the best OL's in football. They have 1st and 2nd round picks all over the WR corps. They have locked up guys in the DB and done everything they could to improve in that area this offseason. They have young up and coming LB's who have shown to be an asset when rushing the QB. They signed Greene so that they could have a guy who could actually pick up a yard or two when that's all that's needed. Who did you want them to sign or draft to fit with your plan? Who did you want them to sign or draft to fit with your plan? imo it really all comes down to him not trusting CJ in the running game. That's not meant as a dig on his continued CJ bashing either. It's just that he sees them trying to build a power running game and if you don't trust the RB in that scenario, you get worried. I disagree w/ it but I get it. Personally I think CJ will play well this year and if not Greene can step in so I really like what they're doing on offense. And people are worried about the pass D but imo that comes from not remembering how badly we were against the run last year and how that affected our pass D. The worst part of our pass D last year was SS. I would like to sign a vet press man corner though.. I'm just not sure if there are any out there worth it. I don't like Verner in that role. That's the only thing that really worries me on the team atm.

Titans are trying to build a complete offense. Titans aren't flawed, they just aren't complete yet. They also tried to sign Welker, which I think would have actually helped them more this season. And after this season Hunter is replacing Britt. Walker is a blocking TE. They def slanted towards the running game, kept CJ at 10 mill, paid Greene, overloaded at interior OL and paid Walker while letting Cook go.

They could have improved the OL without using so many resources.... Try and sign Wallace, get more of a pass catching TE like Bennett, cut CJ of course and sign/draft much cheaper options better suited for the passing game. Someone like Reggie Bush/Green and/or a draft pick. Pursue Dumerville. The Titans have outside weapons in Hunter and Britt but nothing to attack the middle of the field or out of the backfield
charleytolar
Is there any more over-rated stat in football than completion percentage? (maybe broken tackles!) You're happy with 60% but miserable with 54%-- which is the difference between 6 more completions per 100 attempt-- between 1 and 2 per game. CJ himself accounts for that amount of drops but we put it on the QB with this particular stat...

Welker would've been awesome but imo draft Hunter allows Wright to move into that role and I think he could excel at it. And they didn't need a TE like Cook w/ what they want from their TEs. They want Locker to have a consistent check down on every play. Sometimes that'll be the slot WR w/ Wright and sometimes it'll be Walker. Walker imo should be fully capable of doing that. Hunter and Britt should open up the middle of the field for Wright leaving Walker to be a consistent 3-4 yds when nothing else is there... key word being "should."
