tinman Posted April 8, 2013 Report Share Posted April 8, 2013 I must admit my interest in baseball is just not what it use to be.. I use to make it to several Braves games a year. My mom loves them and I always took her to one a year. She watches EVERYGAME on TV. Just after all the roid years I am just not interested anymore.. I like the playoffs but the days of looking forward to a baseball game are over.. Smoltz, Glaven, And Maddox was about the last time I really got into it.. Now that was a rotation. I absolutely love going to the games but that is because prices have gone UP and I can get bleacher tickets the day of for $11. Nothing beats going to a brewer game on a whim or a few days notice and just getting drunk and grilling with your friends. Also helps that the Brewers have been decent recently and when I went to games last year, the brewers were something like 12-1 with that loss being my last game of the season. I had always rooted for the Braves, but it has been years since I've even cared to watch a full inning of baseball. But for some weird ass reason I've caught much, if not all, of every Braves game they've played this year. I'd never heard of the name "Justin Upton" until a week or so ago but I sure am acquainted with him now. Guy has been money since opening day. He and his bro. closing out the 9th with the two homers to lift the team to the win just sealed it for me. I think I'm hooked and I'm shocked. Maybe I've just been longing to see something competitive because we sure as shit haven't seen much of that out of the Titans in recent times. Just like between the Reds and the Cards. They both have been lookin good. I'm usually totally wrapped up in the Stanley Cup race but my Preds have been sucking badly and are out of contention so I've been paying more attention to baseball. I grew up when baseball was IT. The national pastime. Way more popular than NFL and NBA and soccer was some sport played by foreigners. People think it's boring but its way more cerebral than any other sport except maybe chess.(if thats even considered a sport, lol) Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
