LT is on NFLN right now blasting CJ. He partially blames the OL, but says it's up to CJ to do a lot more than what he has. Says he's playing like he doesn't want it anymore and he's scared to hit the hole.

Says he's not sure if he can bounce back

Jamal, are you going to honestly say you haven't been championing that the OL is the real reason the running game sucks and not CJ?

"Real reason," no. That's a loaded term, and I'd be surprised if I had ever used it. If I have, it was likely hyperbole to get a point across or part of a discussion on a specific game as opposed to the overall issues.

A run game starts up front and no running back will look good unless the OL consistently plays much better than they have been for the last season plus. People calling for a different runningback and saying that will fix things are wrong. Everyone loves a backup but in this case, barring a dramatic shift in execution up front, a backup would produce at an unacceptable level. What's more, all other RBs produced at a lower level - even last year.

And none of that excuses CJ's play, but acknowledging the significance OL play is part of a real discussion on the issues and to date there has been little to no such discussion because people get called "homers" for even bringing it up. I have been championing that the OL play is wholly inadequate as well and the excessive finger pointing at CJ does not align with the proportion deserved. From there a thread derails into nonsensical name calling and claim-staking.

And, yes, he who posts most drives that discussion.

Yeah, welcome aboard my ass. If you had any ability to not exhibit some of the lamest qualities people on the internet at times adopt, you would be capable of so much less ass-hattery.

He reads what he wants to read.

He ignores half of posts. He's been doing it to me for years.

sci ... I already said your were right on the refs and I was wrong. It happens.

I wasn't talking to you about it.

I was responding to Jamal.

I also wasn't trying to prove you wrong. I was just merely adding in a couple of things that weren't in your commentary.

Without getting into your specific discussions with him... it's his schtick. In total... sometimes it is barely tolerable, sometimes it is fun in a :cmj: sort of way (let's call these Oilerman)... and sometimes he actually tries to talk football and it is awesome (let's call this Scotty).

When we record podcasts, Scotty is quite enjoyable. I will definitely express my opinion on Oilerman's annoying nature, but at the same time one can't argue with the overall results which are the reason I post here. I prefer Scotty to Oilerman, but will tolerate the latter to get the former.

Regarding the facemask, I'll have to watch again. By that point my original... viewing method... had switched to a Steelers game so I was utilizing a method with far more spotty video. On the replay I only saw the hand in jersey part. I'm rewatching the game tonight on NFL Rewind, and I'll maybe admit being wrong.

Obviously these new refs are making more mistakes because of a lack of experience, but the regular refs have missed plenty of calls that cost us games in the past. Blown calls will continue to happen even when the other refs come back.

I just hope that once the regular refs get back, that they get as much scrutiny as the replacements are getting.

Finally. Lets dispense with the bullshit and get down to it. It's clear that the running game is suffering from the following: Poor RB play, Poor OL play, Poor Coaching, and Poor play calling. While all that may be true, CJ has 33 carries for 44 yards and is averaging 1.4 ypc. Do you know how hard it is for a RB to average 1.4 ypc? It isn't easy. Either the OL is the worst in NFL history which is compounded by CJ being the only elite RB to ever be totally dependant upon his OL, or CJ is finished and no one wants to admit it
