Grizz Posted April 8 Report Share Posted April 8 They could honestly take it in so many directions. I feel like there will ultimately be two reveals: Carol's past, and Floyd's death. I think Carol might have killed her ex-husband (in self-defense?). The show is positioning her to be a sympathetic character and a shady one. I think we are meant to both feel sorry for her and view her as a suspect, which means she likely isn't the one directly responsible for what happens to Floyd. There is an element of darkness to the kid--that seems like a strong bread crumb. He is the other one with access to the house. There is a potential for a real sad ending here--Floyd has made all this effort to connect with him and do all the things, but at the end of the day he is unwell and Floyd is just another house to throw a rock at. I also still think the other wife is lurking in the background. They included the shot of her seeing Clark get arrested. When they focus on Clark, they focus on the shot of him on the swing a lot, creeping on the neighbor. Why do they keep showing that, when much of the narrative is about Clark ultimately not being a bad person when it comes to the Floyd/Carol/Clark triad? This is behavior the wife would observe. She is not portrayed as dumb. She could find the account and believe that Clark is having an affair with Floyd and Carol and lash out. Why is she neglected and left out of all this? The show seems to include her but not highlight her--the classic "she was there all along" figure. It would kind of make sense because we've been primed with one legitimate motive (creed, money) but the answer is another one (jealousy).
