NashvilleNinja
In a dynasty league of 20 teams. 4 teams had inactive owners who were removed so the league is shaving down to 16 teams, which gives a surplus of available players, a number of which are elite tier, including Chase, Gibbs, Bowers, and Achane. So we're holding a supplemental draft. In the drawing for who gets first pick, I won the 1st pick. My kneejerk reaction is Chase has to be the pick, but Chase is entering year 5 where Gibbs is only entering year 3. Plus I'm slightly thinner at RB than I am WR. Still... it's Ja'Marr Chase. And WRs typically have longer careers than RBs.
abenjami
It's Chase. Heck I would take Bowers over Gibbs too. Edited June 23 by abenjami

I know Bowers had a monster 2024 but he's going to have a lot more competition for touches going forward with a better QB situation for all of them. Jeanty, Meyers, Bech, etc. Then again, Ben Johnson is gone so who knows what kind of differences the new OC is going to introduce.
NashvilleNinja
Also, you're right about Chase over Gibbs. My top 2 RBs are Derrick Henry and Kareem Hunt, so I'm aging out there. But I do have Tajae Spears and Zach Charbonnet backing them up. If Kenneth Walker would gtfo the way I think Charbonnet could blow up. Plus I drafted Jaydon Blue and Jordan James in our rookie draft so I've got some potential there, even if unproven. My receivers are pretty stacked already with Terry McLaurin, Marvin Harrison, and Jayden Higgins, but adding Chase would put that group over the top like a mfer. Plus I wound up with all three of the Titans rookie receivers as depth so maybe at least one of those will pan out.
9 Nines
Is JSN available? He is likely to take Chase's spot this or next year: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DLOBDwLyboX/ He was the NFL best WR in second half of season and the new coaching will work him on the sides more: Edited June 23 by 9 Nines

Calatin
I love RB’s but even I would go with Chase, RB’s shelf life is short.

I was just contemplating whether I would be better off going Gibbs given how thin I am there. Gibbs is a top-tier cornerstone piece, not just a very good RB. Right up there with Bijan Robinson. Chase is just in a class of his own, which is why I ultimately went with him. But I can't justify in any way the idea of going with Bowers over Gibbs. His volume was as much out of necessity as it was anything else. Meyers, Bech, Thornton, and Jeanty are all going to take touches away from him now. He may not even put up top 3 tight end stats in 2025 with all the new faces. Don't get me wrong, Bowers is a great talent but the statistical regression threat is real, just from Jeanty alone. They didn't draft him in the top 10 just to give more touches to the tight end.

It has nothing to do with not believing in Bowers. He was the unquestioned 3rd option behind Chase and Gibbs if that league's lottery for the supplemental draft had given me the 3rd pick. And I'm not even saying I wouldn't have agonized over it a bit if it had been between Gibbs and Bowers. I just don't believe there won't be regression. Bowers was the best player on the Raiders offense last season and it wasn't even close. That probably be the case anymore. Not that it's a bad thing for him, it'll make his job easier. But for fantasy purposes he might take a step back.
titanruss
Chase. Longer productive career likely NashvilleNinja
Jamalisms
As interesting because getting a great RB feels harder than getting a great WR but a RB career is so much shorter that it probably makes sense to prioritize Chase.

Yeah, I ultimately went with Chase. Over thinking things leaves you looking a gift horse in the mouth. I have some decent other receivers like Harrison and McLaurin, but neither of them are anywhere near Chase's level. And the likely shorter career for Gibbs Now I'm just trying to figure out how to pry Jacory Croskey-Merritt away from this other guy without overpaying for him too much. I'm thinking I'm not going to succeed without giving up someone like Charbonnet or Blue. Not sure if he'd take either of them or if I should even consider offering them.
