This goes back to last year. 

 

Richardson played the entirety of the first and last game this year.  That's all I know and I really don't feel like looking up the rest.

Even if its just games he has played in including last year he didnt play the majority of 4 of them I belive. He got knocked out twice last year and this year where the backup came in and looked better. 

 

I get where you are going with this though and our lack of ability to score is a giant fucking problem.

Besides being an incredible athlete, he was STRONG. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a QB break more arm tackles than he did. But most importantly, he had some of the most innate feel in the pocket you’ll ever see. The guy had eyes in the back of his head. 
 

But to your point I agree a 100%. I always felt Steve played a decade or two too early. He would’ve been amazing in an offense designed more Around his legs. They just didn’t do that back then. He was great in Heimerdinger’s offense though, which was a more wide open version of the Shanahan offense at the time. ‘03 McNair especially was awesome…..

They relied on his running a ton early on but the problem with Steve was that he was a physical, punishing runner and would always be hurt.  In addition, it did take him a while to adjust to the NFL from the SWAC level of competition.  He was not a polished passer in 95 - 97.  It started to turn in 1998 but I remember re-watching the SB and shocked at how basic he looked as a passer compared to the later years.

 

The best version of McNair was with Heimerdinger, where he was more Elway like in play style.  Pass first with running when you need to.

 

What's disappointing is that he was not a real hard worker in terms of keeping in shape, which was why his career was way shorter than it should have been.  If he had the work ethic of a Brady or Manning, he could have been a HOFer.
