The thing is that the team didn't start 0-6 because of KFC, even with VY as the QB they wouldn't have been much better. They went into Pittsburg and went into OT, we have seen VY against the Steelers defense. VY also played in the 4th quarter in that blowout loss to NE and looked absolutely pitiful. Collins was the better choice. The Titans had all kinds of problems in that 0-6 start, then they got healthy and their schedule for super easy. Collins missed more open receivers that year than Hasselbeck by far. And Hasselbeck threw the ball a lot more. As far as 2009 Collins had a big role in losing the Houston and Jets games. And there's no way in hell they win with him at QB against Arizona and Miami. Maybe not even SF. I am also in agreement with OzTitan. Kerry Collins did not decline. He was the same guy in 2010 that he was with Carolina, NY Giants and Oakland. Probably a bit smarter with the football. 2008 was the best football he played in his entire career. And this was also with an out of shape CJ contributing next to nothing in the running game to help him out. In the 3 games he got to play with Britt, Hasselbeck went 78 for 112 (69.6%) for 932 yds, 5 TD's and 2 INT's. His QB rating was over 100 and he was averaging 8.3 yards per pass attempt. What's with all the hate here? Because people read stats differently, because they have chosen their QB and nothing will make them change their minds, because people are by nature very subjective and see little to nothing objectively. VY went on to post a 100 QBR and more wins than losses when he was allowed to start the next season whereas KFC continued to suck. VY was always the better option for winning a game... especially after his "punishment" year that fisher never could get over and continued to find ways to sit/cross him even though it was by far obvious who should have been playing. Didn't Collins set an NFL record for futility that game? Ripping on Young throwing an INT when taking over down 59-0 is not exactly going to help win an argument. That's what it's all about. Facts. The majority of these anti-Young arguments completely ignore facts and facts are only used when they can help the argument. He had a good game? Well the system was easy. He had Chris Johnson. Fisher dumbed down the playbook. His receivers bailed him out. The defense played 10 in the box. Whatever the case may be, everything besides the fact that Young played well is used by these people obsessed with bashing Young. If his stats in a game stunk then fine. But I also want the quarterback of my favorite team to be a leader, someone with at least mildly capable intelligence or intellect (football-wise, anyway), and that's where VY failed. That and the histronics and blame game. I'll never say he sucked, as there are plenty of qb's that sucked more and some are even still starting.
