It just pisses me off that they take something that merits a discussion and just spew all across the board. There is a 5% difference in the national numbers compared to NY numbers. That is worth discussing. Was it because there were more infections in the first place? Were the Covid patients brought in to the NH quarantined properly? Did the decision affect the overall total? Was it a worthy Trade-off where younger, healthier people were treated which led to the deaths of some older people? In future situations is this a policy when hospitals are flooded that should be tried again? Was it a mistake, or was it a risk analysis? We should have that conversation, but it seems impossible, even with the left because then they go into defensive mode most of the time because the argument is constantly presented to them from every angle by people not interested in any discussion whatsoever. The goals of optimal individual healthcare vs aggressive local infection containment are difficult to reconcile. But for sure that’s not the intent of the Thor’s of the world looking to distort any fact while limiting context — all while running interference for the worst global covid management vs the nation’s resources. Additionally these are the same people who touted the Sweden model, a country that blatantly put their elderly at risk and they died in numbers grossly higher than neighboring Nordic countries.
