BTW,

Marshall Faulk appears to be skeptical about the Fisher hire

Bernie Bytes: Faulk not thrilled with Rams

BY BERNIE MIKLASZ,

Wednesday, February 1, 2012

Good morning from Indianapolis and the 46th Super Bowl.

* Hall of Fame running back Marshall Faulk seems ambivalent over the Rams' hiring of Jeff Fisher as head coach and Brian Schottenheimer as offensive coordinator. Faulk was the centerpiece of "The Greatest Show" Rams, and the first member of that team to be enshrined in Canton. I'm always interested in what he has to say about his old team, and on Tuesday, Faulk was made available by The NFL Network to discuss the Super Bowl and other matters.

• Faulk on Fisher: No. 28 expects quick results and doesn't seem inclined to give Fisher the benefit of the doubt if the Rams' reconstruction takes longer than expected.

"We'll see. That's all I can say. We will see," Faulk said. "Jeff had a long and illustrious tenure in Tennessee and Houston. How long is (owner) Stan Kroenke going to wait? Will they give him all five years regardless of how bumpy it is? If Jeff hits three of those 8-8 seasons, what do you do? That's a lot of money to be mediocre. You've got to deliver."

• Faulk on Schottenheimer: "I'm sorry, but can you tell me what Schottenheimer did with the Jets that would give confidence that he can be the one to turn this offense around and to get (quarterback) Sam Bradford going? He had better talent to work with in New York than he'll have right away in St. Louis. So we'll see what he can get done."

Don't hold back Marshall, LOL. Glad to see someone in the media who doesn't buy into the Fisher hype and bullshit. The direct quote of 8-8 was priceless...I wonder what the FIsher Fan Club here will do when he gets fired. Will the teams be lining up everywhere like this year to hire him?

It sets a very bad precedent having your son on your own staff and when you hire your BFF's son as well it adds to the problem. Helping Brandon get on Schwartz's staff is fine, but how do you promote your own son in the future and not call it nepotism?

Marshall Faulk is a tell it like it is analyst

He's one of the only analysts I really like because he doesn't let the hype or the media dictate what he thinks

He calls it like he sees it

It's why I really don't have a problem with Bud's policy about nepotism

It became an absolute mess in SD

Brian was there with Marty

And Marty also tried to bring his brother Kurt onto the staff after the 2006 season and it caused a lot of friction b/w him and upper managment

I don't understand why everyone gives Fisher such a hard time. He was a great coach, and was the sole reason we had so much success here over the past 16 years. Obviously, all our success is a direct result of his amazing talent/character evaluation of players and his ability to bring in top notch coordinators. Anyone who questions his awesomeness is just a retard.

Some of the names Fisher's hired so far:

Greg Williams

Brian Schottenheimer

Ray Sherman

Dave McGinnis

Brandon Fisher

Blake Williams (unconfirmed, but you know it's coming. Blake was with his dad in NO, JAX, and WAS)

JF is also interviewing Bart Andrus, former Titans QB coach to be the new Rams QB coach

Hey, everyone who is in middle TN right now. Look up at the wide open sky. Do you see that cobalt blue? That's how Jeff Fisher not being the Titans coach makes me feel. Our possibilities seem as endless as that beautiful sky right now.

.....

Just one more reason I am a HUGE Marshall Faulk fan. Great to see someone in the media call it right up the middle.

I don't have anything against Fisher, honestly. Part of me hopes he does succeed. Part of me knows he probably will have some success, like he did here. But that last part of me knows he probably isn't going to bring St. Louis a championship, just like he didn't here.

Of course

And you know GW son is coming on board too...he was with GW in NO, JAX, and WAS

JF also recently hired Ray Sherman to be his WR coach

Looks like the St. Louis WRs will be be tossing bricks to each other at practice. That was the lamest exercise I've ever heard of or read about.
