LaCanfora with some interesting nuggets here. TIFWIW...

Since first writing about Florida State defensive lineman Josh Sweat a few weeks back – and how projections of him going in the third or fourth round are way off base, I have heard nothing to the contrary. Some teams prefer him to Harold Landry, his knee is not as big a concern now as it was for some clubs before the combine, and he has some freakish ability and metrics. I wouldn't guarantee he goes in the first round, but top of the second round is a very safe bet, and if a team like Seattle dropped down a few spots as it is apt to do, Sweat would be a strong potential target.

...

NFL teams may be systematically ignoring Eric Reid for some now-obvious reasons unrelated to football, but his brother is getting a lot of attention. Stanford safety Justin Reid has a legit shot at going in the first round, and the Titans have done a lot of work on safeties. Reid or Ronnie Harrison(Alabama) could be the pick there depending on how things break. And for as much attention as Tremaine Edmunds is garnering late, keep a very close eye on his brother, safety Terrell Edmunds. Teams love his make-up and athleticism more than is being let on, and the projected grades on him in the 4th/5th round are going to look way low. I keep hearing it's possible he sneaks into the late first round, or certainly second round. The Panthers, Titans and Steelers could be a fit.

Giants reportedly strongly leaning towards taking Barkley at 2

i'm a big fan of Barkley, but that would be pure stupidity from the Giants if they took him at 2.

if you are going to make the idiotic move to not pick a successor to Eli, the value of the pick is trading down and let a QB desperate team overpay, taking Barkley is just a really poor use of the value of the pick.

Gettleman was being pretty defensive a few days ago about the notion that they had to take a QB.

FWIW, people keeping mock the Pats taking a developmental QB. I don't see why the Giants can't do the same. They could take a guy like Rudolph or Lauletta in round 2.

If they think one of these QB is a franchise guy, then yeah they're dumb. But if they're not sold on any of the top guys, biggest mistake you can make is what Ruston Webster did. Charlie Casserly taking David Carr over Julius Peppers. But I get why it would be frustrating for Giants fan. You rarely get a chance to pick that high with that many QB to choose from.

Does this mean Darnold is probably going #1?

sounds like its down to Sam Darnold and Josh Allen, the Browns GM John Dorsey is the only guy who knows who it is, he is refusing to tell his coaching staff/scouting staff, he fears Hue Jackson will tell his media buddies.
