Players really dgaf about fans either.  We're paying, they're earning.

Only idiots get emotionally involved with these guys and put them up on a pedestal and give them special treatment, all the while they are being paid millions to play a game while most of us scrape by on whatever it is we make.  I didn't see them lowering those ticket prices after the economy took a crash and people were struggling so save the lecture.

True, but who said we should put anyone on a pedestal? This kid just lost millions of dollars. Saying 'damn, that's a kick in the nuts' instead of 'good, now we can get him for cheap!' is just a different and less bitchmade way of saying things. Of course then you have Oman's version:

and I laugh my ass off.

I have no problem with those who say, damn that's a kick in the nuts.  It is a kick in the nuts and I feel for the dude... to a point.

It's the ones who try to preach at those who say 'who cares' like they are better that annoys me.  We all have problems and truthfully his only making a few million instead of a bunch of millions are less than most of us and certainly less than the average person.

Football players get injured. It's inevitable. It's a shame for the kid but you know that it happens to kids every year.

Being a football player isn't a sustainable career choice. Even optimally you get too old and have to retire long before almost any other profession. Most college athletes aren't able to live off their athletic skills. The point of going to college is suppose to be getting an education so you can get a better job later in life. If a college athlete blows that off then it's on them when football/basketball/whatever doesn't work out for them any more.
