DB Jalen Ramsey Could Be Next Patrick Peterson

Florida State defensive back Jalen Ramsey has speed, versatility, and all the athleticism an NFL club could ask for in a first-round draft choice.

Is he the NFL's next Patrick Peterson?

He's got length, he's got world-class speed. Even when he gets beat off the line of sscrimmage in press coverage, it's amazing to see his catch-up speed. It's like beep, beep and he's there. That's on the positive side," Mike Mayock said.

Not saying he didn't make a lot more plays, but they kept looping the same 4 plays over and over. He's also not going to get away with relying on his catch up speed on the next level. Having said that, I love the kid in interviews; hopefully a trade down with SF and we could grab him at 7 and have at least two high 2nds and something extra next year.

He will never make it to seven. He will not make it past 5. jacksonville will run to the podium to take him.

If the Titans are targeting Ramsey after a trade down they will have to stay in the top 5. That means the only teams they can deal with is cleveland, san diego, and dallas. There is really no guarantee of they trade with dallas because if dallas takes the QB cleveland likes at #1, Cleveland might take  Ramsey #2.

We will see how FA goes but I would not be mad if he is the pick. As close an elite prospect as you can get.

I love that he is always around the ball, and has the smarts to go along with the athleticism.

Always around the ball? The lack of big plays is one of the knocks on him.

I question his ball skills, and I don't see him as a corner in the NFL. He's a safety all the way. For all the traits he has, he never seemed to be making all that many difference making plays for FSU.

But, I think he's got a really high floor and is likely an 8+ year starter with maybe a probowl or 2 tossed in. I don't think you're getting Ed Reed part 2 though.

If we can find an RT solution in free agency, i'd be fine with Ramsay at #1.

On 104.5, Mark Howard said Mel Kiser said he thinks Ramsey is a Rod Woodson/Charles Woodson type of player. I believe this kid is going to be really good.

lol. I hate draft season for this crap alone. Yes, Ramsey compares to two of the greatest DBs to ever play the game! Just like Tunsil is the best LT prospect in 10 years. It really needs to stop.

Ramsey had a ton of difference making plays, not sure where that's coming from. And he made them in a number of different ways.

He was hardly thrown at last year, or I can assure you he'd have better numbers in terms of turnovers. I'm not going to sit here and pump him up or compare him to all-time great players, because you just never know, but I do think he's a great prospect and every bit worthy of a top 5 pick.

I think they were saying that because just like the Woodson's Ramsey will more than likely play CB and Safety in his NFL career.

For the record I'm not holding his lack of big plays last year while he was at CB against him. I would expect him to have more splash plays as a FS though. He looks like a really good prospect but I dont think you take a FS top 5. Now if he was truly a legit shutdown CB I would feel otherwise.

He was clearly the best player for the FSU, I would be trying like hell to keep the ball away from him.

He makes plays in the back field, in run support and in the air. He is a complete all rounder.

Around the ball does not equate just to interceptions.

I've watched a few full game cut ups and I think you are way overstating his contributions. He didn't have near the impact Berry did for the Vols a few years back.
