I dont think Henry is a stud in the NFL. He doesnt have the quickness to the hole to be an every down back. I think he ends up being mainly a goal line back. He always had massive holes at Bama. Once he gets going hes hard to stop but if he got hit at the LOS he just fell forward for 3-4 yards. Then he would break off a wide open 40+ yard run and his stats would look amazing. I dont think he is able to do that in the NFL. He was the work horse at Bama. I think there will be some really good RBs in rounds 3-4. I like Booker, Drake, Perkins, Williams, and Prosise all more than Henry. Id even prefer signing Miller, Ivory and Morris in FA over Henry. I just dont think he is worth our 2nd rounder.

Williams does look good. If he fell to the 4th-5th I think he would be an awesome pick.

"Can be a violent runner without even trying"

"Pummels tacklers with forward lean and dynamite behind his pads"

"Gives run-support cornerbacks bad dreams"

"Effective in zone, gap and power schemes"

"Rarely fatigues and wears down defenses as game goes on"

"Makes consistent, initial reads as a zone runner"

"Led nation in missed tackles forced with 60"

"Powerful, yet graceful...who can fit through tight spaces"

"Moves like a runaway train who is tough to slow down"

"Setting a new SEC record with 2,219 rushing yards and 28 touchdowns"

"Shows surprisingly light feet to bounce runs outside"

"Has displayed excellent ball security"

Henry has flaws.  He's not a great east west runner, he doesn't have an elite first step but he does have plenty of speed once he gets going.  He's a long strider as someone pointed out on here.  He's not going to make a lot of people miss but he led the league in missed tackles.  THAT'S FUCKING HUGE.  That's not Alabama's line.  That's him running through people once he gets going.

Yes, Alabama's line made him look better.  Yes, he's not a CJ type guy who's going to break off huge runs to the house.

He is a very good prospect and people are ridiculous just writing him off because of a couple of cut ups and they think their smarter than all the scouts.  He fits this scheme.  He punishes defenders.  He is one of the few guys who has proven he can stand up to the rigors of a full workload.  28 TDs is absolutely insane production.  I don't expect him to come into the league and dominate the way did at Alabama but still.

Anyways, you guys are welcome to your opinions.  I'll respectful disagree and I guess we'll see who's right in a few months.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I guess. This kid is a lot better than what TJ Yeldon showed at bama to me. I see a lot more determination when he runs. He rarely goes down on first contact. Yeldon ran soft in his senior year at bama. This kid runs hard. Here is his 2014 game against bama:

This was a considered the best bama defense until this year. He had some tough runs in the game.  Like I said,  you will notice he rarely goes down on first contact.

I just dont think he is worth our 2nd round pick. The thing that I dont like is his lack of any first step speed. No doubt he is a big powerful runner but guys in the NFL are a lot bigger and physical than college. I think he will have a decent NFL career but I dont see him being an every down back. At one point I really wanted Henry but the more I watched him the less I wanted him. And missed tackles does tie into Bamas line. They took care of the front 7 of defenses constantly so he was breaking all safeties tackles. Hes a big physical freak. Ill give you that but to me how successful he will be is a question mark. The NFL is a completely different level than college when it comes to physicality.

@BeedoeLaw thank you for the thread. This is great stuff man.

I'm a RB whore, and he is my favorite today b/c of this post... Once the "new" high of this kid wears off, I'm sure I'll switch back to Elliot or Booker or Taylor as my favorite...

Also, nobody is talking of Elliot b/c we allll know he is the best in the draft and is a sure fire top 20 pick. We're picking at 1 so we ain't taking him

However a trade back with LA and I'm all in for Elliot at 15... Even though I rather get Ragland or an OT

@Kdub07 I definitely enjoy Titans report this time of year. I am a football junkie. I started playing RB in football at 6 years old and it was my main position through 1 year of college. As a kid I always dreamed of playing RB in the NFL. I idolized Walter Payton, Tony Dorsett, and Marcus Allen in my formative years. RB is and always will be my favorite position. I feel like if I was an NFL evaluator RB would be specialty.

I often think about how much I would love being an executive for a professional football team. Had I realized I would enjoy being an executive almost as much as playing the game, I would have pursued that as a career once I realized I would not make the NFL. However, I snap back to reality and think about how good my life is now, and I'm glad it turned out the way it is. Thanks to all of you that take the time to put these offseason reports together.  I really enjoy them.

Check out the draft forumn.... I'm hitting that hard this offseason with players we should look at.

I won't do a workup on Williams, this thread is plenty...

I really want to look more into Kenneth Dixon, and DeAndre Washington

ESPN Dolphins reporter James Walker said there is a "40 percent" chance impending free agent Lamar Miller returns to Miami.

That might be generous. The Dolphins may be able to convince Miller the new coaching staff will better utilize him after being woefully underused the last four seasons, but they would still need to come up with the money. With Doug Martin likely staying with the Bucs, Miller will be the hottest young running back on the open market, and Miami is currently projected to be over the cap. They can save around $18 million by restructuring Ndamukong Suh's deal, but they also need to re-sign DE Olivier Vernon. With those cap limitations, spending a lot of money on a running back might not make sense.

Yup all 60!!! were safeties... that's it.  Not.  One of his best traits is that he's proven that he can be an every down back.  He's really good in pass protection.  he may not be a Marshall Faulk that sneaks out of the backfield and becomes an underneath passing weapon, but if you leave a RB in PP you can sneak a TE or WR out in that role so that's not nearly as big of a deal as people are making it out to be.  Also, you can use that to your advantage every now and then as teams won't expect you to go there.

I miss having a big bruising guy that wears defenses down.  I miss that Eddie George type runner in the backfield.

I'm the exact opposite, the more I watch of him and listen to posters here, the more i'm convinced he'll be successful at the next level.

If we go the FA RB route, Lamar Miller is who want. I'm not big on Chris Ivory or Bilal Powell, and Forte is over 30. Forte will probably want to go to a contender anyway. If we can't get something done with Miller, I would rather take a RB in the draft.
