OILERMAN
People used to like Christie, not anymore
Face
have you spent time in Jersey? What you describe is precisely why people like him. I agree with Face everyone I know there, including both dems and repubs, love the guy even though the polls don't reflect that. He's done though. Like Face said, Christie's time was 4 years ago. This is exactly it & it's one of the stranger things I've seen in politics. OMan is completely right in everything he says but unless you actually live in this state, it's hard to grasp how people feel about him just going by the numbers. No matter how down his approval ratings are, he would win in a huge landslide if he ran again. People are pissed at him, but they also have the utmost confidence in him. Also, this is just my opinion, but I thought he was the clear winner in the 1st debate. He spoke boldly, confidently, and most importantly directly. The guy actually answers questions. He kept his bravado while getting rid of the bully side to him. I don't know if you saw it but Rand Paul got on him about the NSA stuff & CC just killed him. Setting aside political preferences, Rep or Dem, I just always thought that he's an impressive guy.
SleepingTitan
Absolutely 0 chance. He looks good when all of him is behind the podium, but unfortunately, that's rare.
Legaltitan
The thing is he has actually become more likeable. He still speak straight and direct but has dropped the bully persona.
OILERMAN
I actually saw a few days ago his numbers went up recently but were still pitiful. He's currently 7th in the polls, which is actually up.
Starkiller
I actually saw a few days ago his numbers went up recently but were still pitiful. He's currently 7th in the polls, which is actually up. he probably just picked up support from Rick Perry and Scott Walker supporters.
Guest
I feel the exact opposite of Oilerman. Christie's original popularity was largely attached to his "Hey I'm a just a cheese eating regular fat ass like the rest of you" persona... Americans f'n love that shit! If anything he should have kept eating and end up in a motorized scooter like those massive American people in WalMart. The day he was diagnosed with Diabetes his ticket would have been punched. An ugly old woman though? Not so much. He blew it when he started dressing better, losing weight and oh yeah getting caught lying his ass off and hanging with Jerry Jones in the Cowboy booth. Little Earl
9 Nine is so off base it isn't even worth discussing. First the assumption people voted against Obama because he was black is over blown and more than likely he got more votes because he was black. Also, Hillary is not loved by all in the Dems or Moderates. Over on Titans Central soon after Obama won the 1st election, 9 Nines and Oilerman were crowing over an article explaining why Democrats would be in control of the Congress for decades to come. Lol at that one!
Legaltitan
CTF, it is true we do love that shit, but if he was nominated and started to appear on TV a lot people would be horrified. ESPECIALLY fat people - they are harder than anyone on fat people. It is true, we Americans love the idea of a fat, out of shape guy who is just like us, but when the rubber meets the road there is no more vain and vapid populace than the United States citizenry. We would build Christie up only to tear him down over his weight. This does and will hurt Hillary, by the way. It's just that there isn't a strong candidate running against her. I think it was probably a huge factor with Obama, who was tall and thin and youthful looking, and I thing she will further suffer after another 8 years of age and weight. Legaltitan
Is it just me, or do I sense a little bit of momentum with Christie?

Legaltitan
Didn't the main newspaper in New Hampshire endorse him? I still take everyone's word for it he has almost zero chance but he certainly isn't finished quite yet.

Apparently they have a long history of endorsing losers from what I heard...
Mythos27
I like Christie's personality as a "straight shooter" but I just don't think he's diplomatic enough to be President. Oddly enough I actually think he'd try his best to rise above partisan politics as much as he could.
