Thanks to Root Sports, I've seen many.  Fun season thus far.

Must be nice, I'm stuck with Suddenlink. Those bastards are too cheap to carry Root Sports, or even Viacom channels like Comedy Central.

Maybe things will change, I think some foreign dude bought them recently and will take over in January. Hopefully I'll get to see the Rockets then.

Big series for both teams.  Even more when you realize that the Twins are only 1 GB of Texas for the #2 Wildcard slot.  I thought the Twins would drop out of the race but they have hung in there.  Hell every team in the AL still has a shot at reaching the playoffs.  In the NL, there have already been 7 or 8 teams eliminated.

Brutal 8th inning that cost them the game today.  But you can't have your bullpen guys give up five straight hits.  Gotta give Royals credit though they had some great ABs.  And the Astros were a bit unlucky with the ground ball that eluded Correa because of the bad hop.

Great season..a lot of fun to watch. I hope they go out and get a big time arm for the bullpen.

The future is very bright!

Yes it is.  You guys have one of the best players in the league and he is only 21.  Altuve, Springer should also figure into the core as they move on.  Another biggie is resigning Rasmus and figuring out what to do with the rotation (Kazmir is a FA).  Lucky for them this is a very strong group of FA starting pitchers.  And it sounds like Rasmus is interested in resigning with them--but Astros will have to pay up.

I normally hate paying for closers but if they truly feel that they are shutdown closer away from taking that next step than they should go for it.  The only downside is that relievers performance can be very volitale.  Aroldis Chapman is out there but he makes like 10 million dollars a here and there will be stiff competition for him in the trade market and he will require some top prospects to get.  Honestly, I'd look to fortify the middle relievers instead.  I think you can get by with a closer like Gregorson, who they basically signed for cheap.

And the newest Astros closer is Ken Giles who was traded to Houston from PHI for prospects.  Giles at least has multiple years left and is still in his cheap years.  I generally don't like trading for closers unless they are the last missing piece for a team (think Arod/Griffey/Johnson Mariners) but this one is ok.  The one that is horrible is Boston trading for Kimbrel.  The prospects the Astros gave away were probably a little lower ranked as well but again they had the system depth to do this.

Houston is still looking for starting pitching, I think.

Astros taking Appel over Bryant is going to haunt them for years

Probably not as long as the Curse of the Bambino lasted in Boston, but even they got over it eventually.

5.5 games back of Texas and 2 GB of the 2nd WC slot.  I hope they knock out one of those AL East teams (BOS or TOR) in front of them.  Impressive considering the bad start by HOU.
