I thought it was funny that Illinois was all excited to get Vandy at home. They thought is was going to be an easy win. 13-0 wasn't exactly what they had in mind. Gotta be careful what you wish for! The SEC was stacked this year and will be well represented at the CWS. Florida, Arkansas, LSU are in with Vandy and Texas A&M still alive. I got to go to the CWS last year for the first time. Clinching the chance to defend their national title in the college world series at 6:00 pm and then Dansby Swanson and Carson Fulmer go #1 and #8 overall in the MLB draft 5 minutes later. I was listening on the radio driving back from Louisville on business. There was a rowdy party of one happening in my truck. I got some strange looks from some fellow motorists. Breaking up a no hitter with a game winning home run was clutch. I met his folks Connie and Randy at the CWS last year at a pregame Vandy get together in Omaha. Both are super nice. Don't quite feel like this is a lock yet even to win 1 out of 2 since TCU has such a great pitching staff. We've gotten 1 run in 2 games against them. Saw them at Dodger Stadium vs VU to open the year. Solid team. Their fans were nice folks too, of note. And if we get past them to the finals - even though I worry about the revenge thing with UVA after last year - I'd rather play them than Florida. They just seem to have our number and are playing really, really well right now. Honestly, I'm just thrilled we made it back to Omaha. Every win is just gravy.
