If Preston is so gifted, why is he best friends with the bench?

I didn't say he was so gifted. I said he was a hard worker and can play all the spots.

He's riding the bench because he's less talented than the 3 guys in front of him obviously.

Depth charts in the NFL are far from fair, the better players don't always play ahead of less talented guys, money & draft status hold a lot of weight. I'm not saying this is the case with Preston but he should have been ahead of Williams last year, he flat out looked better in the preseason. I'll still never understand why Munch couldn't get him playing time the last 2 games of the year.

I don't have high hopes for him.

I am really hoping for Hunter to have a breakout season!

They can BOTH have good seasons, you know. Hunter is in our top 3 WRs. I'm just asking if Preston would be after that.

And I am just saying I'm not expecting much from Preston.

He is like the Tommie Campbell of our WR's always hear good things durning the offseason and will show some flashes here and there but never does shit when the season starts.

They aren't even excuses...it's just an explanation. There's no way Preston was moving ahead of those guys at the time. Now, he'll get a legit shot. New coaching staff will look at everyone on their merits. Preston was a bit raw (as Soxcat notes, he had a big leap to make from college). But now he's got enough experience and such that he should be able to show what he can do. I know it's a new system, but that's true for everyone. So he should get a legit shot this time around, and hopefully he'll make it work.

Exactly how I feel. The guy caught a bomb against Atl's 1st stringers in the preseason & 2 TD's against Arizona which was basically all he played. I'd like to see what he can do with more snaps.

Hunter Wright and Washington are the top 3 without a doubt. Preston should get some looks in the 4WR sets and may spell any of the first three since Whisenhunt runs a lot of Bunch formation plays. If he's any good hell get a chance to prove it this season in a real offense.

That's all I want, I just hope they don't sign a washed up vet to be the 4th WR.
