chef
I've been up there before in the Sears Tower (will always be that to me). Cannot imagine the freakout that would occur if the glass did that. Last fall when down in Auckland we did the tourist thing and went up the Sky Tower, kind of New Zealand's version of Seattle Space needle, just built about 35 years later. The tower itself is 1,000+, but the observation deck is "only" about 650 feet IIRC. Best part were the glass walls angling outward and you could fall forward to about a 25 degree angle looking all the way down.

NashvilleNinja
I've been up the Sears Tower (yep, same for me) but that was in 94 so I don't think they had the skydeck back then. Also been up in the CN Tower in Toronto and it has a see-through floor. I can't imagine how thick that is, but it looked/felt pretty thick. Then again I couldn't tell you exactly how sturdy seeing as how it took me less than a second to get the hell back off of it. Speaking of the CN Tower... Guest
So I did the edge walk. I've mentioned it here before. I have become progressively less comfortable with heights as I get older and it scared the shit out of me but what a thrill. I wish you guys could see the video because it;'s hilarious. There's this 70 year old woman up there with no fear who is totally owning me. You can tell how scared I am and she's ready to do cartwheels out there. Jamalisms
I'd do the tilting windows at the Hancock building before I did that glass floor crap.

wtenn
I was in the Sears Tower three years ago and I could not bring myself to step onto that glass ledge. In fact, my wife and 1 year old son shared a brain with me, but my 1 year old daughter strutted out there like there was nothing to it and loved it. Now my caution seems somewhat justified... Guest
You sent that to me. It was you and your new company, right? No you saw the little edit my company produced. Business guys aren't supposed to be on those things because we're not action sports heroes but I think they made an exception because my power and attractiveness would be good for the brand nonetheless. The vid I am talking about is this little DVD the CN tower gives you that your guide shot. Hopefully one day you get a chance to see this because it;'s funny as all shit. Like there's this one clip where everyone has to take one step forward to the edge and everyone does it and my foot moves like 2 cm's and I'm the only guy left behind. Like I said i was standing beside some 70 year old lady who was watching me melt and saying, "Don't worry honey you'll be fine... just follow me." NashvilleNinja
Did you guys see those guys who base jumped from the top of the new tower in NYC? I'll go out on a limb and say that they probably didn't have authorization to do that. In other news, it's good to know the security for that building is so tight.
