Mike Shanahan nearly quit last season because of RGIII/Daniel Snyder relationship

Mike Shanahan and Jeff Fisher are best friends and both spend as much time on game plans as they do manipulating the media.

I take all of these stories out of Washington with a grain of salt. Shanahan trying to turn the fans on a young QB. The rat is at it again.

Just out of curiosity. Did you get that from me or are there others who actually call him the rat?

Owners like this are "coach killers". We saw it with Fisher.

Fisher went 13-3 with Collins (think on that) but had to go back to Bud's boy VY.

And Jerry Jones? Need anything be said?

And why did Fisher get forced to go to VY?

Do you think it might have had something to do with starting the next year 0-6 with the best team he ever coached?

As absolutely horrible as VY was, he saved Fisher's job twice....that says something about the atrociousness of Coach Ocho.

Rat is a known nickname for Shanahan and has been around for decades.

1. Some say, it's his rodent like features

2. Oakland fans call him a rat for leaving their team and coaching their bitter rivals (Broncos)

3. Bronco fans call him a rat for getting Dan Reeves fired

4. Ashley Lelie fans call him a rat because his ego ruined the career of a young and promising WR

So, no, I didn't get the name from you. Also, his son is getting a reputation as the Brat. You heard it here first.

That's funny because I've called him that for years never even knowing that. Only because he looks like a rat.

Word around town today is that Shanny fabricated this story to force the owner to fire him. It's being tagged as his exit strategy. Supposedly Shanny is interested in the Texans job as well. Funny stuff.

I absolutely believe this. I thought his post game presser smelled funny and he didn't deny anything.

Best part is that all he has to do is name Cousins the starter and Sndyer will axe him within seconds.

That would probably be the smartest thing Shanny's done since arriving in Washington.

Ironic that it would it would most likely cause his firing.

It gets better. Now there are rumors that Snyder orchastrated the McNabb trade as well as the Griffin pick against Shanny's wishes. Supposedly Snyder was not happy with the Cousins pick either since they had given up so much to get Griffin and he felt like Shanny did it out of spite. In addition, it's commonly accepted in the area that Shanny planted the story and some reporters have gone so far as to suggest Shanny won't shut the story down because he wants other prospective owners to think he's not to blame for the mess in Washington.

Wasn't there a report today that Snyder is going to try and fire Shanny with cause to void future payment?

Yes which is crazy because Synder already has a terrible reputation and Shanny is playing on it. If the Skins go this route then they will have to prove that Shanny was the source of the ESPN report from yesterday. I have a hard time believing they will be successful in doing so.

Lots of stuff coming out of his presser today on Twitter.

Won't commit to RGIII as starter. Won't say if he wants to coach the team next year.

He's trying to get fired and collect his 7 million next year. It's obvious. All he has to do is name Cousins the starter and it's a done deal. Pull the trigger Shanny. I love it when anyone sticks it to one of the worst owners in pro sports.
