Pollard's Thoughts on the Chiefs

The Chargers got Pollard in coverage against Gates and I actually thought he did a pretty good job. His ball skills are very limited, but Pollard is a very solid athlete.

He's athletic enough to not constantly let the long TD get by him but to think that he is athletic enough to be a gifted man-cover guy is an exxageration. Saying that, He has been the best FA signing this team has had in years. I hope we extend him to a 3 year deal

Don't believe anyone thinks he's a gifted man cover guy. He's just not a liability athletically.

Slightly off-topic: One thing I've loved about our defensive design is how we have continually switched up our looks, consistently leaving the coordinator guessing on pass protection calls. I've seen several plays where the offense leaves seven in protection and we only bring 3-4 guys. I've also seen a few sacks where they leave five or six to protect against 6-7 blitzers, leaving us with a direct line on the QB.

I give Williams a ton of credit, but I honestly believe that Gray has affected Williams style, at least somewhat. Williams is leading the defense, but Gray has tempered Williams all or nothing method to find one hell of a blend that is leaving offenses guessing and consistently leaving us with the advantage in coverage or on the blitz.

Not sure how it all unfolds, but as Cyrus has noted, the Titans are not by any means getting flukey wins. We've been outright dominating teams, especially on the defensive side of the ball, even though the score doesn't necessarily reflect it (which is a legit criticism of this style of football). Pollard and GW have literally transformed the makeup of this team, and a lot of credit should be given to Munch and Webster who told the fans exactly what their plan was and have so far executed it.

Bullshit. He's been a liability in coverage his entire career.

Being a liability athletically is different from lacking ball skills and anticipation in zone.

Splitting hairs are we? The fact is Pollard is not good in coverage. You can argue the reason for that all you want.

So what you are saying is one of the best defenses in the NFL over the last decade was playing a guy who can't cover in coverage..

Well we ain't been one of the best of the last decade..lol... the ravens of course..

Pollard has his limitations no doubt, they just don't outweigh the shit he does and does well... Running his mouth is one of his gifts..

The Ravens were not a great defense last year.
