  1. No, if that happened people would've said it was meaningless because it came against SF's #2 defense. There's no way Ward could've won last night in the public opinion court, which obviously is completely irrelevant.
  2. He did. I probably would like a little more effort on it but it's hard to tell. Also apparently it was only two throws that went his way, someone wrote three. He couldn't have caught the other pass. Are we that starved for something to talk about that we're now whining about a guy who didn't catch either of his two pass thrown his way, none of which any receiver could've caught?
  3. @EC34, regarding Tate, I don't think you can really fault him as the 2nd and 3rd passes weren't good. The first one he may have been grabbed it's hard to tell, but the defender had good position regardless. IMO there's absolutely nothing you can take from last night in regards to Tate.
  4. It happens every. single. year. Literally. The first preseason game always has a player, sometimes a play, that people analyze for pages and pages.
  5. That's exactly what it looked like. That's what I meant when I said he was "overhyped." He just looked like he was tying to play too fast. In a way similar to some of the critiques of Levis. They're totally different QBs but Ward looked a bit like Levis with how fast he was trying to play. He just needs to slow down. Every single throw he missed last night are ones he can make in his sleep, minus maybe the one in the end zone as it wasn't there and of course the grounding.
  6. The reaction has been absurd. Even for this group.
  7. Robinson definitely needed to catch that one ball. He’s certainly being paid enough. But there were I believe two, maybe three where he missed open guys because he was so anxious to make the throw that he sailed it.
  8. One thing I will say is Ward definitely needs to take something off some of these throws. I do think he came in overanxious and it showed. Which was part of why these throws had so much zip on them.
  9. He’s played three drives for Christ’s sakes. My goodness.
  10. JFC, it’s the first half of a preseason game for a second year guy learning a new offense. This is why checking this thread is a bad idea.
  11. Right, he just needs to relax. He came out a bit overzealous which is why everything is high.
  12. Is it just me or does it seem like the whistle is blowing before the play ends? I’ve noticed it multiple times.
  13. Very important to go to commercial after coming out of one to show a punt.
  14. They’re better than the Chargers uniforms.
  15. That 3rd down call was a Fisher staple. He loved the run on 3rd down to take the other team by surprise. Or try to at least.
  16. He had one of the quickest releases ever. The guy was immobile and didn't take many sacks.
  17. I'd rather have Marino than Montana but that's just me.
  18. This happened in the 1989 Super Bowl against the Bengals. The guy dropped it. If he catches it he likely doesn't have four Super Bowls and people may have looked at it differently. Football is a team game. People forget sometimes:
  19. I know the reason, I just think it's dumb. The new Browns were an expansion team and had as much to do with the old Browns as the Buffalo Bills, to use a random team. But the history books show that they've had all this success in past years (50s through 80s).
